Our Bali bungalow, nestled in lush tropical surroundings near Ubud above the Petanu river, offers a peaceful escape from post-Covid Bali's hustle. Featuring a Javanese wood design, it seamlessly blends with nature and includes a private, outdoor jacuzzi with jungle views. With a large, cozy king-sized bed and a private kitchen on the main floor, and a queen-sized bed in the loft, it's perfect for solo travelers, couples seeking a romantic retreat, three adults looking for Bali as it was a 100 years ago, or a small family wanting to learn how it’s like to live here. Less than 8 minutes by car or motorbike from Ubud, our bungalow provides a unique and private experience, allowing you to connect with a more serene Bali, where your mornings unfold against the backdrop of an uninterrupted tropical jungle and the soothing sounds of a sacred, rushing river below. We live in an authentic Balinese village away from crowds, tourists, and noisy traffic. What this means is that there are no trendy or walkable restaurants, cafes, or shops like in Ubud. (Keep in mind that Ubud is only 8 - 10 minutes by car or motor bike, depending on traffic.) *** The following information is important if you have large and heavy suitcases so please keep this in mind. *** To get to us, you'll be using a narrow road (normal-sized cars can fit but we don't recommend very long cars or vans). Because some drivers don't want to drive their cars down the small road (called a "Gang" in Indonesian) to our land because it looks too narrow and they think there's no place to turn around, we highly recommend booking a driver through us who have driven down before. (FYI - we can assure you that normal cars will fit - we have video and have done it many times ourselves - and they can turn around on our land.) Oftentimes, drivers will drop guests off & picked up at the nearby temple, Pura Jaksaan, which is a 4 - 5 minute walk (for most guests) up/down a short hill. Also, the walk on our land to Hale Nai'a isn't paved so please be prepared for this. In addition, there are stairs to the bungalow (please see photos). Let us know a few days before your arrival if you will have heavy suitcases and we will do our best to have our staff here (provided it's not late at night). Again, we're not a hotel so we don't have a 24/7 staff. Hale Nai'a is amazing and everyone who's stayed with us had a 5-star experience, but . . . it's not for everyone. Just because we're surrounding by a jungle, doesn't mean you'll be alone. As mentioned, we live on the land so if you have any questions or need help, please message us via the Airbnb app and we'll be there quickly to assist you. The Location - Bedulu, Gianyar - only 6 km, 8 - 10 min motorbike/car ride (depending on traffic) from central Ubud, the cultural center of Bali - around the corner is Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave), an over one-thousand year-old historical site that’s always on the “Top-Ten-Things-to-do-in-Ubud” lists - birthplace of Balinese Hinduism and the well-known, kecak dance - many locals consider Bedulu to be the next Ubud! - located where real, Balinese village life can be experienced every day - Gojek (Indonesia ride app) - walking - motorbike We can help arrange a: - personal driver-for-hire for excursions and shopping - motorbike rental (recommended if you have experience - for your own safety) - airport transport While we live right next door in our yoga loft, we are far enough that we won't see or hear you and you have 100% privacy. If you're a solo traveler, this means that you're not alone as we're always around. And, for all travelers, we leave you alone except for a message here and there to see how you're enjoying the bungalow. As such, we're not a hotel with 24/7 staff so we ask that you check-in between the hours of 3 pm - 7 pm only. Once booked, please let us know as soon as possible the time you expect to check-in so we can plan accordingly. If possible, we prefer to greet our customers and give them a tour of Hale Nai'a personally. (On rare occasion do we have self check-in and depends on the customer situation.) We have a small staff to handle all the cleaning & maintenance of the bungalow during normal hours. While you'll be surrounded by the sounds from the Petanu river and at least 50 metres away from the main road, you will experience typical jungle and village sounds from roosters, dogs, geckos*, and frogs. Please note: *The tokay gecko can be found in almost all, non-hotel structures in Bali. They live in the high ceilings and roofs are very helpful in eating the bugs that the come into the bungalow. The trade-off is that, oftentimes, you'll hear them emit a mating call at night which can wake up light sleepers. Because we live in the jungle, it's likely you will hear this call so be advised to bring ear plugs or any other devices you may need to block out any outside noises. The upstairs bedroom with queen bed is an open loft-type space. Re the property - we are still expanding so you will see areas of small construction and storage when you first enter our land, but they are far and will never see this from the Bungalow.
