Beautifully presented period cottage with a ‘boutique’ feel, just a quick stroll from Chesil Beach. ‘Sergeants Retreat’ offers beautiful sea views & sunsets all year. Newly refurbished, Grade II listed police house provides flexible accommodation to sleep six and has easy parking. A sloped rear garden allows access to the sun and a chance for a barbecue or alfresco dining. Ideally positioned for walks, local pubs, cafes, shopping, day trips and sports or just to relax in by the sea. The space Built in 1906 this cottage is Grade II listed and protected as part of the Old Court House and Police Station. It is newly refurbished and we have tried to create a ‘Boutique’ contemporary feel which we hope you enjoy. Almost everything is new! With beautiful views over the beach and sea it provides an ideal base for a family holiday. It faces west so when the weather performs there are breathtaking sunsets. We have loved the local area for it’s sailing, kitesurfing, paddle boarding, running, cycling, climbing, fishing, walks and choice of abundant day trips. We especially enjoy the local Cove Pub and Quiddles cafe with their great food and position on the beach. We take the children for day walks to Portland Bill and Church Ope Cove. They also like a little horse riding, crabbing & walking the alpaca on the island, fossil hunting on the Durassic Coast, playing in the sand in Weymouth or visiting the Swannery in Abboysbury. Guest access The whole house apart from Rear Outbuilding (door from kitchen) and 2 x wardrobes located on landing and in the bathroom. Free parking is on the road. House can be accessed on the level from pavement or by steps. Other things to note To help us prepare for your stay please let us know how many guests or children will be staying? The superking bed has 2 pull out beds/mattresses (for children aged 4 to 12 years old) The kids love it as they are with their parents and have a ‘camping’ feel all being together in one room. The sofa bed in the lounge is new and apparently very comfortable. We can provide the bed linen for the guests to use as they wish.
