This expansive 5-bedroom, 3371 sq ft oasis is perfect for your family escape. Centrally located between the awe-inspiring Grandfather Mountain and breathtaking Linville Falls. With its spacious layout, the house provides ample room for everyone to relax and unwind. Featuring a large kitchen and massive owner suite, with a huge living room ideal for gathering and creating lasting memories. With kid-friendly features, this is the perfect destination for a fun-filled vacation for the entire family. The space The house has 5 bedrooms with 6 total beds. There are 2 king beds, 2 queen beds and a bunk bed with a twin XL on top and queen on the bottom, so the house is currently set up to sleep 11, plus a pack-n-play for 1 infant/toddler (sheets included and cleaned between each guest) in the extra large master bedroom. We have also recently added two 18 inch thick queen size air mattresses with integrated pumps (stored in master bedroom closet, but sheets not included). With this, please note, if you are planning on staying with more than 11 adults, please plan on bringing additional linens/towels just to ensure you have what you need. There are plenty of blankets, dishes, seating, etc. needed for 16 people, but for the bed/sleeping situation as well as the towels for beyond 11 people, you will need to bring on your own. Guest access The basement (accessed by two exterior doors at ground level near the parking or by a door in the den of the house) is off limits to guests. The area is unfinished, thus is not safe for guests. We use this unfinished area for storage for ourselves when we visit as well as storage for our amazing cleaning team so they can store extra supplies. Other things to note Nearby, about 100 yards from our house and strategically hidden by trees between our properties, is a stunning 3-bedroom home with gorgeous views. If you would prefer additional space, this home is a great choice. The walking path and driveway linking the two properties make it perfect for accommodating larger groups. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1205975794003952230 Distances to nearby attractions: - Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing - 1.8 miles (4 mins) - Linville Falls - 6.3 miles (12 mins) - Grandfather Mountain - 9.2 miles (16 mins) - Linville Caverns - 9.7 miles (17 mins) - Sugar Mountain - 11.9 miles (18 mins) - Linville Gorge - 8.4 miles (23 mins) - Banner Elk - 15.3 miles (24 mins) - Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Ziplining - 17.4 miles (30 mins) - Boone - 24.9 miles (37 mins) - Beech Mountain - 21.9 miles (40 mins) - Blowing Rock - 24.8 miles (41 mins) - App Ski Mountain - 28.3 miles (45 mins) - Please note, we do have a relatively steep driveway that is mostly asphalt but parts are gravel. We do our best to have a team out to salt/plow during icy/snowy conditions (mainly January and February), but it is still recommended to have 4wd or AWD in the event that they aren't able to get out there immediately. - Also, while we love pets, our property is currently not pet friendly. The only exception to the rule are service animals that are ADA compliant (thus emotional support and companion animals are not allowed). If a pet is brought to the property and is found to be non-ADA compliant, guests will be charged both the extra deep cleaning fee the cleaner charges us to get the place ready for the next guests. - Lastly, we have 6 exterior security cameras that we would like to disclose so that no guests are left feeling uncomfortable. We value privacy and thus have no interior cameras and have the exterior cameras placed strategically where we cannot see any "guest areas" at all, other than the fire pit patio. We leave one camera there to monitor during "burn ban" conditions, to make sure a forest fire isn't started because guests are ignoring a burn ban. Other than that camera facing the fire pit, we have two facing the front yard/driveway, one facing the propane tank in the back yard and two on our shed monitoring the entrance to the property and the road conditions. We will never use these to monitor guests coming and going or late checkouts or anything like that, they are strictly there for us to check if need to for an emergency (security issues/burn bans/weather events/etc.). We are very understanding about privacy, so if you have any questions about the cameras at all, please reach out to us and I will be happy to share images of what we can see or where exactly they are on the exterior of the house.
