Modern & cozy suite in the woods

This newly built, modern eco-friendly suite is settled amongst eight acres of maple, ash and pine trees on a quiet mountain road. A perfect retreat to surround yourself in nature. It is a two family home with two separate units (the owners live upstairs). Kitchenette includes dishwasher, cook top, coffee maker (coffee, cocoa, tea provided), toaster oven, pots, pans, and dishes. Adjustable TV, electric fireplace, high speed Wi-Fi. Bathroom has a flush toilet, sink, and walk in rain shower. The space The property is surrounded by forest! Enjoy coffee on the patio and watch the local wildlife, like deer, wild turkeys, porcupines, eagles, and foxes. The suite is spacious and inviting, with an electric fireplace to warm you up after a brisk day of exploring. Come back and unwind in a beautiful walk in rain shower, then relax on the sofa or bed and watch some TV, or play some games we have provided. Guest access There are 2 locked doors in the suite that will remain locked during your visit. Please respect the owners privacy, as they will respect yours! Feel like grilling? Cook some meals on the outdoor grill, and have some drinks in the fire-pit area. Feel free to explore the 8 acres of property. When you see old stone walls or red paint on trees, you’ve reached our boundaries, so please do not go any further. Local wildlife is abundant, and you will see deer, wild turkeys, chipmunks, squirrels, and plenty of birds. While it is rare, black bears have been known to get into garbage, but you shouldn’t worry. Enjoy hearing the 2 Barred Owls that live on the property every evening when the sun goes down. If you are visiting in the summer, help yourself to any of the wild blackberries, raspberries, or strawberries that grow on the property. Other things to note Please keep the door/screen door closed at ALL times, especially at night. The suite can be heated using the electric fireplace. The remote is on the nightstand. There is a thermostat on the wall near the bed, but it is used as an emergency backup only. There is also a mini-split/AC unit in the suite. The suite generally stays around 60 degrees in the summer, and about 50 degrees in the winter. In the winter, it is set to 68 degrees. The bathroom has a heater underneath the sink. The smart thermostat is on the wall and easy to operate. Just touch the screen and adjust the temperature until you hear the heater turn on. Please turn the heater off when not in use by turning the heat down until the heater turns off. SUMMER: If you are visiting during summer, it can get very humid. The Delaware River is a 5 minute drive where you can swim, kayak, fish, and enjoy the cool water. FALL: If you are visiting during Fall, the best time to see fall foliage is the first two weeks of October. We are at a higher elevation, so colors only last about 2 weeks on our property. The surrounding valley’s usually have color until late October. WINTER: If you are visiting during the winter months, there will be snow. Our road only gets plowed once a day, and can be very slippery, especially on the uphill/downhill slopes. Please, only book If you are comfortable driving in these conditions and have an all wheel drive vehicle.
