Our cozy cabin is right on Route 212 in Mount Tremper, between Woodstock and Phoenicia, in close proximity to everything the sublime Catskills have to offer like hiking, skiing, swimming, and fishing. We are 20 minutes to Belleayre, 25 to Hunter, and 40 to Windham Mountains for the best of Catskills skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing. The Pines restaurant is a short 5 minute walk from the cabin and home to local eclectic cuisine. Our cabin is simultaneously cozy and spacious, small enough for one person looking to get some peace and quiet, but large enough for a small group of friends or family to fully enjoy. We have an interior porch with giant windows and good storage space for coats, shoes, skis, and even bikes. There is an upstairs porch space, an added little bonus room where you could meditate, do yoga, or just stare out the giant picture window into the trees. Once you enter the main cabin, the kitchen and dining area greet you with seating at the table for five. Our remodeled kitchen has butcherblock countertops and everything you need for a delicious home cooked meal. The sunlight cascades down from the mountaintops into our kitchen, which truly makes cooking and gathering delightful. The living area has two large couches, which accommodate three people each and a comfy chair. The top of the larger coffee table lifts up for an easy work space. We love to sit on the teal couch, drink coffee, and grade papers or answer emails. The 60 inch TV swivels so it can be seen from both couches and we have active Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sling TV, Hulu, and Disney Plus accounts. The first floor bedroom has a triple bunk bed which our kids love, but it can also accommodate adults up to 175 lbs. There is a large closet and full length mirror in that room as well. The upstairs loft is large and a wonderful place to relax. It has a queen sized bed and a comfy chair. Please note that there is no door on the upstairs loft bedroom. The whole cabin is yours! The best of both worlds: beautiful nature all around us, but close to so many fun activities and cultural centers. We are 5 minutes from Phoenicia, 5-10 minutes from the Ashokan Rail Trail and countless other hiking trails, 15 minutes from Woodstock, 20 minutes from Belleyare Mountain for skiing (or the beach in summer), less than 25 minutes to Hunter Mountain, 25 minutes from Kingston, and 40 minutes to Windham Mountain. The Emerson Resort, Zen Mountain Monastery, and Woodstock Brewery are a 3 minute drive from the cabin, and The Pines and Catskills Rose restaurants are within walking distance. There is so much to do in this area in any season, and going up just to experience the changing of the seasons themselves is worth a trip. Unless your only plan is to hike the trails (many which are walkable from our house), we do suggest a car. Plenty of parking at our place. We have an outdoor space with a firepit and gas grill outside along with an outdoor table and chair. It's a great place for stargazing and smores cooking!
