Off street parking. 24 is located in West Tremont on the Quietside of MDI. 5 miles from the center of Southwest Harbor - 30 minutes to Bar Harbor. Two adults max. New in 2023 - 24 now has a full house generator. If the power goes out in Tremont (as it frequently does) - the generator will kick in after a 90 second delay. We are 5 miles from the center of Southwest Harbor where you will find a market, wine store, shopping and restaurants. 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. 15 minutes from hiking at Acadia Mt or swimming at Echo Lake. Walk our quiet road around to Goose Cove where you will find quintessential Maine views complete with working lobster boats and fabulous sunsets. Enjoy the beauty of stargazing from our deck away from city and town lights. Enjoy the house's telescope. Acadia National Park extends to the Quietside with some lovely hikes up the Bernard and Beech Mountains in Tremont as well as Acadia Mt and Echo Lake in Southwest Harbor. The house is fully outfitted for two adults. There is a queen bed. The house is heated and has air conditioning. The bathroom is a three piece bath with a shower. The kitchen has a full-sized stove, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. A modern retro fridge completes the look. There is a large deck on the front of the house that has seasonal water views. Note: Like all homes in Tremont the house has a well and septic system. Not everyone likes to drink well water so we will provide 2 gallons of fresh spring water for your drinking use. Additional spring water is available in Southwest Harbor. The house has wireless internet and an internet ready TV. Netflix and Hulu are available. Note there is no cable. Cell service can be spotty on Tremont. The house has a full-house generator - in the event of a power outage power, will be restored via the generator in 90 seconds. There is no washer or dryer - there is a large, very clean public laundry in Southwest Harbor. 24 has off-street parking. 24 is not pet friendly. No smoking is allowed on the property. No cooking of lobsters in the house. No deep frying of food in the house. You have access to the entire house. Our home is on the adjoining property. Located on a quiet rural road in West Tremont, bounded by two coves - a lovely spot for a walk or run. Our road is featured during the MDI Birding Festival in May! If you are an early riser and walk over to Goose Cove you will see the lobster boats heading out every morning. Smell the ocean - hear hear the waves - see the stars and the milky way - a peaceful stay - all just 30 minutes away from the crowds of Bar Harbor. We are 5 miles from the center of Southwest Harbor home to a market, wine store, shops and restaurants. 30 minutes to Bar Harbor. 24 is approximately 30 minutes from the summer hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and approximately 5 miles from the Quietside charm of Southwest Harbor.
