Saint Mary country home nature walk to river/hills
Saint Mary country home nature walk to river/hills
Description
2 bedroom downstairs apartment. Nestled in the green hills of rural St Mary overlooking the hills of St Andrew is Tutu's Cove, approximately 35-45 minutes from Manor Park Kingston or approximately 1 hr 10 mins from Dunn's River Ocho Rios, & about 2 miles from Castleton Botanical Gardens. Ideal spot to get away from city hustle & bustle, work stress or simply to experience nature at it's rustic best. Hike to the river, enjoy a nature walk & try cooking on wood fire. The space Away from the hustle. It's rustic here with delicious food cooked to order, at times from a qualified chef. The surroundings is lush and green because of frequent rain and some sort of food or fruits are always in season, long as someone is around to pick them. It's the simplicity of life that attracts me here, and could be the same for you too! The bio-diversity is vast ranging from doctor birds to owls, if you're lucky enough to spot them. There are occasional hawks too that prey on our domestic birds so bird watchers be aware 😀. Fresh eggs are available from the layers in the hen house. The terrain is a bit rugged here so do wear comfortable walking shoes for ease of getting around. Park your car on the driveway and lock the gate. The hills of King Weston, Florence Hill and Mount Cheerful, St Andrew are visible from the house and you can see the historic, misty, huge burst of mist that rises up from Tom's River every morning and descends every evening to sit on the river. Enjoy the frequent birdsongs at various intervals during the days and the eclectic sounds of crickets and tree frogs at nights especially after the rain. Don't forget the resident rooster who could be crowing at some odd early hours of the morning. Sometimes the dogs bark too. Please DO NOT feed the cats! You can go for a nature walk, hike to the river for a bathe or swim, or cookout and or camp out, or hike to the hills which boasts Castleton way down below. Binoculars come in handy here. Rafting is available locally about 20 minutes drive away. You really need a vehicle to move around with ease here and a guide can be arranged for you. Bring insect repellant as there are mosquitoes around. It's rustic here! Mosquito nets are provided in the bedrooms. Reading spaces are on the property and wifi accessible. Sometimes on the weekends, the locals have street dances so your sleep may be affected. You can prepare your own food in the kitchen. Groceries, juices & liquor can be delivered to the property. We can also arrange for your meals to be cooked by the resident chef, Marsha, or another local chef, but if you fancy some street food, that is always available within the district or drive to Friendship Gap about 15 -20 minutes away for jerk chicken, jerk pork, chicken & chips and cane juices and other natural juices from The Boiling House. The journey would be less round here if the road was better. A local hairdresser and nail shop is available by appointment. In the opposite direction towards Kingston, take aways, restaurants and bars are located in Golden Valley, Temple Hall, Golden Spring, Stony Hill and Manor Park 7-30 minutes drive. Basic coffee percolator is in the kitchen. Hot water is only available if you heat it on the stove or boil the kettle. Any questions please ask and we will be happy to help. Guest access The downstairs of the house is self-contained with own entrance and that is the space used for Airbnb. Host will meet guest with the key.
