The memorable architecture includes a stunning spiral stairway, crafted from trees harvested on our 4.5-acre property, leading up through a reclaimed silo. Every detail at Friedenswald tells a story. (The spiral stairway is not handicap accessible.) The space Spacious Upper Barn Retreat – Rustic & Private (please note: not handicap accessible), this expansive open-concept space offers a unique and cozy retreat with plenty of room to relax. While the upper barn is private, with a bathroom and kitchenette, guests share access to the lower-level bathroom, Silo Library, entryway, and laundry room with others on the property. As you ascend the staircase and step inside, you'll be awestruck by the charm and spaciousness of this beautifully crafted retreat—perfect for a peaceful Northwoods escape! The sleeping area features a king-size bed enclosed by a folding wall for visual privacy (wall does not reach the ceiling). In addition, there are three Murphy beds—a queen, full, and twin—allowing up to seven adults to sleep comfortably. The Kitchenette has a full-size fridge with freezer space on top. 2 burner induction hotplate, and a ninja double toaster oven with a cookbook for great meal ideas. If you find you need a full size oven please ask! I also have a Nesco Roaster and a crockpot by request. There is a coffee maker and grinder. We supply ethically sourced Better Way Designs coffee beans, supporting survivors of human trafficking with every cup. It’s specialty-grade, mold-free, and freshly roasted for bold, smooth flavor you can feel good about. Brew a better day, right here in your Airbnb stay, with coffee that not only tastes good but does good. Do you prefer tea? We also have loose leaf tea, a hot water kettle and a tea pot. The dining area seats 6 with extra folding chairs available by request. Our TV is all set up and ready for you to enjoy! Simply log in with your own streaming accounts (like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc.) and watch your favorite shows and movies during your stay. Guest access Guests can enter through the entrance leading to the iconic silo, where a winding spiral staircase takes you to the expansive upper barn to your private space. With 1,500 sq. feet of open-concept space, there’s plenty of room to relax and unwind. You have your own private bathroom with a second shared bathroom in the lower level. Enjoy the shared outdoor pavilion, complete with a gas grill and firepit—perfect for cookouts and cozy evenings. We also have a second firepit. Kids will love the playground and spacious areas for bike riding. For nature lovers, take a peaceful stroll through our woods & explore the beauty of the Northwoods landscape. Laundry facilities onsite for guests. Other things to note This unit has a kitchenette with a full size fridge, double ninja toaster oven, coffee maker, hot water kettle & two burner induction hotplate. This is sufficient for many people, however if you find you need a full size oven please ask. We also have a nesco roaster and crockpot by request. Take a peaceful stroll through our 2.5-acre wooded trails and scenic grass and gravel paths. Along the way, enjoy our two newly added ponds (2024), featuring a charming covered bridge, a serene waterfall, and a floating dock—perfect for relaxing in nature. The ponds are meant for creating a peaceful place for guests and wildlife. Not really suitable for swimming. And if you want to dangle your feet in or even jump in you are welcome to do so at your own risk.
