Halcyon Ridge is owned by Lynn & Chuck Hadyniak, who live nearby. Lynn & Chuck moved out of New Jersey years ago to get away from the hustle & bustle, & raise a family in peace. They love Freedom for its quiet & natural beauty, & would love to host people at Halcyon Ridge who also want to escape the noise. Stargazers will be delighted: low humidity, expansive view of the southeastern sky, & next to no light pollution, make for wonderful viewing. Rest. Relax. Recharge. The space A 2-story cape, our 3-bedroom (1 queen, 1 double, 1 twin *just added in 2025!* that is accessible for those who are mobility-challenged) home is secluded amongst 300 acres of forest, is newly renovated, and complete with new full-sized appliances, A/C, heat &A/C pumps, as well as heated tile (1st floor) & heated wood (2nd floor) floors. Also new in 2025: automatic generator, for those few occasions when power goes out. You'll never be left without all the creature comforts. Winter is gorgeous on the Ridge. Crystal- clear nights for stargazing, snow shoes (2 pairs for adults are included) or cross-country skis for exploring vistas and forests, all right outside of Halcyon's doors! No travel time, no crowds. Downhill winter fun can be found 20-30 minutes away, at Waterville's Quarry Rd trails, and the Camden Snow Bowl. We've even added a Reader's Nook! Halcyon is perfect for a weekend getaway, a week-long retreat from the noise of the concrete jungle, or an even longer getaway. Those who want to work while here will find no better places than our deck overlooking the Camden Hills and the valleys between Halcyon Ridge and the Hills,and our upstairs office, complete with ergonomic seating and sit/stand desk. Rest. Relax. Recharge. Guest access You have full access to our entire 2-story home, as well as a private driveway, free parking, large side yards for outdoor activities (we provide a croquet set, fireput, grill, and a hammock), and a backyard with a view that stretches for miles. Enjoy our fire pit any night of the year! Stargazers won't be disappointed: light pollution hasn't really reached us yet here in Freedom, and the stars of the southeastern sky put on a nightly show. LL Bean snowshoes for 2 adults are available, or bring your cross-country skis! Rest. Relax. Recharge. Other things to note We love our Canadian and European guests! No matter what the weather, as you can see from the pictures, it's beautiful here. We rarely get temperatures greater than 90 in the summer, and our hilltop location catches wonderful breezes. Fall and winter are perfect times to stay at Halcyon Ridge.🍁🍂❄️☃️ Clear skies and no light pollution make for wonderful stargazing at night, and the crisp air makes for mind-clearing daytime hikes through our family's 300 acres of protected woods. Winter brings its own fun: snowshoeing (2 pairs of LLBean's best are provided) and cross-country skiing from right out Halcyon Ridge's doors make for great fresh-air activities with no commutes, no crowds, no people. And it's only a 20-minute drive to Waterville's Quarry Road tow-rope downhill skiing, and only 30 minutes to the Camden Snowbowl for downhill skiing and tubing! With a fully-outfitted kitchen, those who love to relax by cooking or baking will find all appliances and tools provided. Play board games or cards. Compete in a rousing game of foosball (or any of the other of the 8 games included in that table) or croquet. Identify animal tracks in the snow. Snuggle up with your favorite book and a blanket in our Reader's Nook. Nap on the hammock in a soothing spring, summer, or fall breeze while listening to birdsong.
