Take a walk or hike right into the forest just steps away from the front door. Located just 4 miles (a 7 minute drive) from the famous Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa. Enjoy spectacular views in every direction, from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the southeast, to the Jemez Mountains to the west and views of the extinct volcano Mesa Vibora. The space Built in traditional adobe style and designed by architect John Barton, the color and texture of the home and adjoining casita blend into the environment. The home was published in " The Getaway Home", by Dale Mulfinger. This is a unique, round 1600 +/- SF adobe casita featuring a large open area with 1 bedroom and a bath. The curvilinear shape was inspired by the Spanish Mission-style churches of the area. Fiber Optic WiFi with 105 Mbps makes communication with the outside world very easy. The casita offers radiant floor heat and a wood burning stove. There is a portable AC window unit in the bedroom. The kitchenette is well stocked with utensils, pots, pans and dishes. There is plenty of room in both the bedroom and open area living space. Special care has been taken to provide the necessary comforts, but not overcrowd the space with unnecessary furniture or decoration. The queen-sized bed comfortably fits 2, and the twin bed can sleep 1. I can provide a cot or queen-sized futon if that is requested. Fitted sheets, flat sheets, duvet cover, pillow cases and extra blankets are provided for your unique stay. I leave a few wooden jigsaw puzzles around that guests are welcome to put together. I cut wooden jigsaw puzzles by hand in a nearby studio and am happy to share my challenging creations. There is a small assortment of other games as well as a cardboard puzzle to provide fun diversion should you feel the desire to stay inside and enjoy the peace and quiet that the casita and property affords. Other things to note There are a couple of well-behaved huskies who live in the house next to the casita. You won't ever have to interact with them, but they inevitably bark sometimes.
