Lakefront! Fish! Swim! Boat! Hike! Relax! Love dogs! Come stay on 25 acres of quiet (no car noise) Shangri-La with a private trout-stocked lake. You will have your own dock with use of boats and fishing rods. We have hiking trails around the property with a small mountain top (what a view!!). It is a boating and hiking paradise! This is a wonderful place to relax and restore yourself. Sit on the shaded deck or hang out on the sun-soaked dock and wonder what you have been missing in your life. “So peaceful, from the stars and crickets at night to boating on the quiet lake, or enjoying breakfast on the porch while watching a family of deer in the morning" “If your looking for a place to unplug and recharge your mental health this is the place!” “I drank my morning coffee on the lake and listened to the birds chirp and at night I ate dinner outside with the deer that visited the apple tree on the property, it was magical” It is a great cottage within 100 yards of our dock you can use (shared with us). It is literally a wonderful walking strait-shot from the cottage to the dock (right through the reeds). Beautiful trees and lots of shade. Tall grass and 25 acres to run, hike and play for kids and dogs. “My dog loved exploring the property and cooling off in the lake” Hiking trails go through deep aspen trees and top out on a small mountain for great views. Take a drink from our spring runoff pipe. If you don't have dogs and you love them, take our golden retriever and white lab around. They would love it! The cottage is great but you won't want to stay there much when you got the lake to boat around on and a dock to hangout on. Lake is 50 foot deep and very clear. Lots of trout to fish for. I could go on and on but you should just see for yourself. Check out the photos...Wow! “We saw wildlife, took a hike, went fishing (at least my husband did) and caught trout while I sat next to the lake and read a book” The cottage has old wood floors, an updated bathroom and shower, and all the amenities you would need. We take pride in a clean place and maintaining everything quickly. We provide complimentary things like a bottle of wine or another drink of your choice, coffee, shampoo, a book nook, the list goes on.... “The cabin has everything we needed, was super comfortable/clean and the lake was beyond words” There is a large deck with a seat swing to enjoy the birds singing. The deck is very shaded and when you want sun, you go to the dock. You will be very impressed with this cottage and how we have stocked it. “David and his family are such wonderful people. They have travelled around the world and they opened up their home with unmatched hospitality” "Hi David, we stayed with you last year and I want you to know that you are number 1 when it comes to taking care of your guests. You did not miss a thing. I really appreciate it. We just stayed at the coast and I was very disappointed. Keep up the great job." These reviews say it all. We take pride in providing and experience above and beyond. Try it out for a few days. You will not regret it! Really you got the whole 25 acres of land and 50 acres of lake to explore. It will seem like it goes on forever! I love talking with new people! Tell me where you are from. I have been to a lot of places in the world and I bet I have been to where you are from. Good conversation starter. I can help with anything you need. I know cool places to visit away from our property but you will find there is not many places as great as our cottage you came to enjoy. I know river beaches, hike-in lakes, river floats and more. Just ask. If you want privacy, we can accommodate that also. Just going for drives around our area is so great. You will see deer, turkey, if you are lucky a bear. Drive along the Kettle River or the Columbia River and Roosevelt lake. Lakes! Backcountry drives! River beaches! You may not want to leave our own lake and paradise but if you want to get out and drive, we can help you with some ideas there. We have driven every road on the map in this area! Driving Directions (Don't just use your phone maps with our address, they often lead you the wrong way) Print out these instructions and map) If you are phone savvy, put in these coordinates in your G Maps right to the start of our driveway: 48.79502° N, 118.05960° W When driving to our location you turn at a small store called Barstow. Stop in for ice cream and last minute stuff. You cross the Kettle River on Barstow Bridge Rd. You head upwards away from the river (not along it) on Bridgman-Rettinger Rd. up through trees and you keep right when you merge onto another road down pastured valleys for 2 miles of asphalt. Keep straight onto the dirt road. ((((GPS sometimes takes you to a white gravel road to the right when the road turns left. Don't take that))). Then it is about 1 mile to a T at Hill loop Rd turn right and in about 3/4 of a mile you will find our sign “Kassandra and David Forever” 3296 Hill Loop Rd on the right. You should be able to see the lake. Drive down for 1/2 mile and once it turns left past a barn, stay going forward into the grass and turn left. You will see signs and you can park right next to the home in the grass. Look for the second sign on a tool shed. drive right up to the shed. The green cottage is yours. It is not locked. If you end up at a dead end, that is our home. Your place will be one home to the West of us. Both homes area about 100 yards from each other. The closest small store is 5 miles away. The closest town is 20 miles so bring food. Our road is a little rocky and it is dirt/gravel. But all cars should be able to make it. Caveat; there is no shoreline. You do all your activities from the dock which has boats tied up and 2 ladders to climb out of the water after you swim. Of course you get out of the boats on the dock. It's easy! What is great about this is jumping right into deep water...so refreshing! Our private road is a little steep and with gravel. (a little over 1/2 mile long) Just take your time. Any car except a very very low one will make it down and up fine in Spring, Summer and Fall. There are 3 steps up to the house with handrails. We have Roku Guest streaming. Bring your own passwords for your streaming services. We have a ton of DVD movies. Catch some fish? We can hook you up! We have rods to use. We got a paddle boat, paddle board, rowboat and canoe for use. Internet Wi-Fi for your cell service. There is no cell service right at the cottage. We don't have it either. We use the internet. Use the phone less, use the lake more!! We have an extensive trail system with a map in our book you can photograph and follow past a spring, a mountain view and more. Get in shape and do it fast or just go for a stroll.
