Description
'Buckies' - a cosy cottage a stone's throw (literally!) from the beach in the pretty seaside village of Collieston. If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway, then this is definitely the place for you. The space Buckies has 3 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room, lounge, kitchen, dining area and utility area. Guest access Access to whole house. Other things to note Built around a small harbour, Collieston is a village popular with visitors all year round, and is surrounded by the easily accessible Forvie National Nature Reserve, which is well worth a visit being home to eider ducks, diving terns and oyster catchers. Approximately 3 miles south of Collieston is the village of Newburgh, which lies at the mouth of the Ythan estuary - home to the largest colony of resident grey seals in Scotland. If you're in the sporting mood, there are 5 championship golf courses within a 20 mile radius of Collieston - Cruden Bay (ranked 54th in the world), Newburgh, Royal Aberdeen, Trump International and Murcar Links. If your taste veers more to the scary and macabre, then you might fancy a visit to what is locally known as 'Dracula's Castle' - (formally known as Slains Castle) where Bram Stoker drew some of his inspiration for his world-famous novel, 'Dracula'. For shops, hotels, pubs and cafes, the nearest venue is Newburgh - 'Trellis' is well worth a visit for their amazing soups, salads and home bakes - highly recommend! Ellon (4 miles) has bigger supermarkets (Tesco, Aldi) and coffee shops aplenty.
