Creekside Cottage at Shenandoah

Welcome to our secluded cottage in the woods overlooking Shenandoah National Park! Your home base is located 10 mins from the cute town of Luray, through idyllic farmland and on acres of private hillside forest along a relaxing creek. As you enter this 3br/2ba home, you’ll find cozy cottage charm with thoughtful updates and modern amenities complete with a private hot tub. Within ~20 mins you'll find: - Shenandoah NP entrance - Luray Caverns - Wine country - Canoeing the Shenandoah River The space We take the sanitation & cleaning procedures of our home very seriously. All linens are laundered with every new stay, and all commonly touched surfaces and objects are sanitized with every clean. ---- As of November 2023, we have added a brand new Nordic Jubilee 6-person hot tub onto our deck! During your stay you will have unlimited use of the hot tub. It comes with hydrotherapy jets and lights and is located next to the house overlooking our large front yard and creek. The hot tub is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after every guest checkout, and has self-cleaning upgrades so you will not need to do anything to maintain it during your stay, other than putting the cover back on after each use. ---- If you want to work-from-home, you're covered with our 300 mbps wifi and two dedicated workstations, as well as several other working spaces around the house and patio! Or completely disconnect by having a coffee or adult beverage on the covered porch space overlooking the creek. ---- From the moment you step into our spacious and thoughtfully designed space, we want you to feel at home. This all starts with how we set up our beds to maximize the space. The home is a 3br/2ba equipped with a king and two queen beds. Every bed has a memory foam mattress so you can sleep soundly after a day of experiencing Virginia's outdoors, and there's no need to draw straws on who sleeps where! Your stay will also include the use of our record player, so bring your vinyl's or feel free to use some of ours. The record player also has Bluetooth so you won't be limited on what you can listen to! While we don't offer cable, the living room TV has a Roku set up in Guest mode for watching Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and any other streaming service. You will need to log-in to your own accounts, and all of the login and activity will be wiped on the day of your checkout. We know how a good board game can bring family or friends together (or, sometimes apart - if you're unlucky enough to land on Boardwalk in Monopoly), and the dining table will do great double duty as a game table when not being used for meals. We also have included some of our favorite games for varying skill levels in case you didn't pack your own! We also have a fully equipped kitchen, coffee and tea, a newly renovated Japandi-style full bathroom, free washer and dryer, and a dishwasher so you can take care of all your needs conveniently. Guest access You will have access to the entire property, with the exception of the attic and garden shed which will be locked. Access includes use of the hot tub, front yard, patios, driveways, and creekside. Other things to note Relax in our band new hot tub (newly added November 2023)! With adjustable hydrotherapy jets, mood lighting, and a perfect location on our deck with string lights overlooking the front yard and creek, you'll be able to enjoy yourself year-round and help recover quickly after a long day of hiking, river sports, or exploring the valley's many wineries and breweries! ---- After the sun sets, cozy up by the fire and roast marshmallows! We have a firepit in the backyard so you can keep warm indoors and outside! If fire isn't your thing, don't worry - there is central heat throughout the house as well. ---- Sometimes you need to show off those cooking skills and try out that new recipe that keeps popping up on your feed, right? That's why our kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials you'll need to cook you and your family a nice dinner. Of course, you'll only be a few minutes from Luray’s coffee shops and restaurants, so your options will always be open. ---- In an effort to maintain a secure property, the home is equipped with an exterior doorbell camera and three additional cameras facing away from the home. The cameras are all located only on the exterior and are facing outward to only view the exterior, and there are no cameras on the inside. The area is very safe, but this helps us keep an eye on the property and help out if needed. ---- Cell reception is great within Luray itself, but quickly becomes spotty as you drive toward our cottage, into Shenandoah National Park, and/or any of the more rural areas around the valley. It is HIGHLY advisable that you download an Offline Map of the Shenandoah Valley area on your Maps app. Here's how you do it: 1) Open Maps and search Luray. 2) Tap the word "Luray" on the bottom of the screen and this will expand the bottom half of the screen. 3) On the top right, you will see three dots. Tap this button and select "Download offline map." 4) Zoom out to download the entire Shenandoah Valley region. Make sure to capture everything between Front Royal and Harrisonburg.
