Raised by the ocean, sun and wind and originated by nature. The house is tucked away in the fold of a valley, snuggled beside the ocean and a sandy beach. Here you can experience the traditional charm of the old fishermen’s villages as Burgau and Salema. Inspired by nature, we created this place on top of the Barrancão Hill, facing the shimmer of the Atlantic and looking over the rolling green valley of Boca do Rio. This extraordinary and protected environment of the Costa Vincenta Natural Park makes our guesthouse a real haven of tranquillity and a stunning place for your getaway. Or to explore and try outdoor activities sush as surfing, yoga, cycling or mountain biking, hiking the famous Fisherman's trail, golfing on one of the many golf courses. This exceptional villa with 6 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms is located on a quiet hillside between the picturesque villages of Burgau and Salema. At Honest Place we have a maximum capacity of 12 guests, because we like to keep things personal. You will have your own private room, two single beds with ensuite bathroom. You will also find a desk and chair, a built-in closet with hangers and access to the main terrace. Our suites are located in and around an astonishing location, always flowing in harmony with simplicity and nature, yet without ever compromising on comfort. The house was renovated to an exceptional standard in 2017 by the previous owners and the garden has been taken care of with an abundance of love and care. Here you can find yourself strolling around, surrounded by old olive and fig trees. Or smell the freshness of our lemons and orange trees. Discover different fruit trees like apple, pear, grapefruit, plum, nectarine and grapevines in our garden. In short, a true nature-lover’s paradise. We created a space for you, our guest, to enjoy every moment of the day to your own rhythm. You’ll have access to our shared living space to simply relax or share stories in our outdoor spaces or around the fireplace during colder evenings. Our magnificent and inspiring garden is waiting for you and your bare feet. And there is a fully equipped kitchenette for you to use, to make yourself your favourite breakfast, lunch or dinner, located on the ground floor with access to the outdoor places. As we do not serve any food. We provide our guests ceramic plates, cutlery, cooking utensils and serving dishes as well as basics for cooking suchas salt and pepper and olive oil and feel free to use fresh rosemary and herbs from our garden and our fruits from the vegetable garden. The spacious living room has twin patio doors opening on to the front garden and the jacuzzi on the covered terrace. In the communal spacious living room, guests can relaxand even use the fireplace, cosy on cooler days and winter nights. You will find not only nature and outdoor activities within reach but also Lagos centre and Sagres are within 20 min drive of your stay. We created a space for you, our guest, to enjoy every moment of the day to your own rhythm. Your private room has it's ensuite bathroom and acces to the terrace. Incuded in your booking are as well all linen and utilities (water, gas, electricity and Wi-Fi) and towels and toiletries. You’ll have access to our shared living space to simply relax or share stories in our outdoor spaces or around the fireplace during colder evenings. After a day full of adventures or surf sessions, you can enjoy a laidback moment in our jacuzzi, located on the ground floor terrace. Or do you feel more like going for a refreshing dip in the salted non heated pool, overlooking the Atlantic? Access to the outdoor terrace and 10 m long, saltwater, non-heated pool on the first floor is allowed from 9 am till 8 pm. As this part of the house includes also the private area of your host, please use the outdoor stairs to come upstairs and enjoy the panoramic view of this magnificent coastline. The property has a private parking space, shared with other guests. During your stay Hi, soon you will be a guest in my guesthouse, that got me excited. For your information I will be around but I will also allow you to have your private time, ofcourse! Here you have a (rather bigger than small) introduction about me, looking forward to seeing you. I am Charlotte I was born in Belgium, brewed in Antwerp and raised in the warmest nest one could imagine. Surrounded by my lovely parents, little brother and dear friends, I’ve always felt unconditionally loved. I grew into the person I currently am thanks to all these people in my life, along side every beautiful soul I met while traveling the world. Friends and family call me Momma Bear, with reason. I’ve always had a passion for caring. The numerous (street) animals that cross my path, the stranger who needs help or the friend who needs a peptalk: they all have my full attention. After a degree in Psychology and a career in nursing, I’m ready to take my caretaking under the Portuguese sun. The past years I’ve had the opportunity to travel and explore mesmerizingly beautiful parts of the world. What I discovered is that all the places I liked best, have something thing in common: honesty. It’s the ones where I felt safe to feel all the feels, where there was respect for the rhythm of nature and the pace of people around me. These places conquered my heart. Realizing this, I started seeking honest spaces wherever I go. I want to feel at ease and be able to share my truest self with those around me. And I flourish by recreating this feeling for other open-minded and like-minded souls. I do everything I have in my power to make the ones around me feel comfortable and welcome, both in and outside Honest Place. I’ve found that to me growing means being honest. About what I want, need and feel. But perhaps most of all about who I am. I’m at the top of my game on the beach, close to the ocean. I feel alive when I get to walk around barefoot and feel the sand between my toes. I sincerely love the touch of waves, the smell of nature in general, the sight of trees in the evening light, the taste of freshly picked raspberries, the skies turning pink, the sun that reappears after a heavy rain and the rainbow that comes with it. I’m addicted to the sound of laughter, the smell of good coffee and the feeling of being fully alive and content. I hope to contaminate you with these feelings. Starting this journey of becoming your host and entering a complete new chapter in my life, I couldn’t be more excited to finally share all these experiences and joy of life with each and every guest.
