Mountain Studio, a relaxing retreat for two.

The Mountain Studio is a newly-renovated self-contained studio designed for 2 travellers wanting to sleep in separate beds to wind down after a day of sightseeing, skiing or biking. Its balcony offers views of Mount Ruapehu as well as the lush surroundings with occasional frolicking horses, and starry skies. Located along State Highway 49, a mere five minute drive from the alpres ski town of Ohakune - the centre of activities for the southern side of Mount Ruapehu. The space Perfectly situated to make the most of a 'town and country' lifestyle - the breathtaking mountain views, crisp, clean air, and calming effect of nature are reason enough to head to this place. The studio itself, located on the upper level of historic Ruapehu Homestead, offers comfortable and inviting single beds with electric blanket and good quality mattress and pillows, a table for two, smart TV, a tub chair on one corner for relaxing or reading, and outdoor furniture on the balcony if you wish to enjoy the view and the sun with coffee or wine. Electric heater is provided to warm you during the winter. The walk-in pantry is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and whatever you need to make tea and coffee. It has cupboards for your wardrobe as well. The bathroom is spacious with heated towel rail and a newly installed shower cubicle. There is very good cell phone coverage and wifi. For a group of 4, please try “The Upper Studios”, both our upstair studios listed as one and have the entire upper floor area to yourself. Guest access You have your own parking space and you can enjoy a walk on the front lawn right across the parking area. You will be sharing the staircase with the guests from the Stable Studio but the balcony and outdoor furniture infront of your studio is for your exclusive use. Other things to note In extremely cold frosty mornings the water pipes might freeze over. The water supply will be back to normal once the sun is up. There is another studio right next to you, which means there may be another couple of guests staying there. We did try our best to make the wall as noise-proof as possible but you may still be able to hear sound from next door. You may also come across them in the parking area or the shared staircase so we do ask you to respect their privacy during your stay.
