The space This double-wide, 2-level home feels like you are stepping back in time. Built in 1966--during the heyday of Bombay Beach--most of the original furniture and decorations were preserved, from the turquoise range, the wood-paneled living room, the Jetson's-esque kitchen clock to the eclectic art and giant lamps. The house is very spacious, with a large living room, dining area, kitchen nook, 3- bedrooms (1 king, 1 double and 1 single), bathroom and patio. You're just a 3-minute walk to the beach. The best entrance is on E street at 5th! *Please Read Other Details to Note Section* Guest access ACCESS: You'll have access to the entire property! Please be sure to lock the door behind you when you leave. Sometimes the door is sticky! Other things to note **IT IS NOT ADVISED TO SWIM IN THE SEA** GAS: Bombay Beach is a *very* remote place. The nearest gas station is 20 miles away, so please be sure to have enough to get in/out. WEATHER: This is a harsh desert environment! That means it gets really hot in the day and can be quite cold at night. A/C: There is a fairly new air conditioner in the living room that operates with a remote control. The temperature is shown in degrees farenheit. There are individual a/c units in the front and back bedroom, but the living room a/c is more efficient (and not noisy). KITCHEN: The kitchen is stocked with mostly everything you'd need: pots, pans, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, stove, oven, blender, etc. Guests sometimes leave spices, but good to bring what you might want. We have a filtered water system in the fridge, but always recommend bringing water. HOT WATER: The water tank is small and runs out fairly quickly. You'll get more warm-water-time by using a combo of hot and cold rather than just hot! ART: There is much to explore, but please do not wander into homes. A map is posted in the house, but please note that things move around. SPACE: We do our best to keep things clean, but the desert is dusty and critters might find their way inside.
