Clark Mountain Retreat is nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks, offering the perfect blend of charm and modern comfort. This spacious A-frame home is tastefully appointed with warm wood accents and comfortable furnishings, and the location is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking, biking, fly fishing, skiing, sledding, and more are all within easy reach! Looking to explore the area's natural beauty, or simply relax and recharge in a serene setting? This home is the perfect destination. Situated in the quiet community of Ausable Acres, Clark Mountain Retreat is a newly renovated A-frame surrounded by the Adirondack wilderness. Our beautiful surroundings, and sometimes the local wildlife, can be enjoyed from our large back deck, front deck, or fire pit and while gazing out the two-story wall of windows in our great room. All four bedrooms include new premium mattresses, luxurious bedding, and plenty of storage space for your belongings. The main floor's great room is appointed with two cozy leather couches, a gas fireplace, and a well-stocked reading nook. On the same level you will find a spacious dining table ready for your romantic dinner or to seat a family of six (eight with the leaf) including our tiniest guests in the provided highchair. Our kitchen is well stocked with every pot, pan, glass and serving dish the home chef may need. We also provide locally ground coffee, a large collection of spices, flour, and sugar. Our coffee bar includes both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker. Rounding out the main floor are the first of two full baths and our "pine room" bedroom (queen bed). Heading up to the loft, you'll find a collection of games and puzzles. As you reach the top of the stairs, you'll see the perfect spot to "work from home" or write your best-selling novel. Imagine waking up in the loft's king-sized bed and looking out into our surrounding forest - it doesn't get much better than that! The lower level of Clark Mountain Retreat includes the "Raccoon's Den", two bedrooms (one king, one queen), our second full bath and a laundry area. The den is the perfect spot for movie night with a comfy sectional and 50" TV equipped with a Fire Stick for connection to your favorite streaming services. As guests of Clark Mountain Retreat, you also have access to the Ausable Acres private hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing trail system. This includes the short hike to the peak of our namesake, Clark Mountain. Two kayaks are also provided for use at the neighborhood's private lake. Our entire home is accessible to our guests with the exception of a locked owner's closet and a housekeeping closet. The pole barn and small out building are not currently accessible. Guests will enjoy consistent communication from booking to check-out. We are available via text, email or phone calls throughout your stay. Ausable Acres is located off of Route 86 in Jay, NY just minutes from Ausable Forks and Wilmington. We are also located near Lake Placid, the home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic games and just a few miles from Whiteface Mountain the home of the 1980 Olympic Alpine skiing events. The world famous Ausable River, known for its amazing fly fishing, runs through our community. Ausable Acres is a large neighborhood where the main roads are paved and side roads are often unpaved. All areas are well-maintained year-round and frequently plowed in winter. There is no public transportation and ride-share options are limited. Beyond the neighborhood, entertainment options abound. We are located fifteen minutes from Whiteface Mountain and thirty-five minutes from Lake Placid. Other nearby attractions include Ausable Chasm, High Falls Gorge, the Jay Covered Bridge, a vast network of hiking, mountain biking, cycling, skiing and snowboarding opportunities. Peppered across the region are countless breweries, restaurants, seasonal farmer's markets, museums, and more.
