Description

The period cottage is set next to the picture-postcard stream, in the medieval village of Lavenham. Sleeping two guests, the property makes a great base for couples seeking to explore Suffolk. Spend time pottering amongst the historic buildings in the village and exploring the local footpaths, or head into the bustling town of Bury St Edmunds, 12.5 miles away. The space The 17th-century former grain barn is full of rustic charm, with an exposed timber frame and mullion windows. Spend time in the quirky kitchen/diner rustling up tasty meals. In addition to the sitting room, there is also a dining hall where you can relax looking out over the stream and fields. The cosy king-size bedroom is upstairs, along with a handy office area on the landing. The bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a separate bathroom. Please note, due to the property’s age, there is a restricted head height of on the first floor of 6’. There is no outside space, but with multiple footpaths branching away from the village, you’ll have plenty of choice when it comes to your morning walk. Following reviews complaining of noise from the neighbouring property, Byes Barn has been relaunched as a one-bedroom property. As a result, the advertised property no longer includes any rooms adjoining the next door property, completely removing any risk of noise through the party wall. A stroll around Lavenham is like stepping back in time, with its preserved medieval buildings and quaint, narrow streets. The village has a thriving community, and you’ll find many independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. Set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, there are many tracks and trails to explore through the surrounding woodlands and fields. Just 12.5 miles away is Bury St Edmunds, with its fantastic restaurants, beautiful abbey gardens, and stunning cathedral.
