Eclectic suite w backyard balcony in heart of city
Description
This bright newly renovated second-story apartment in a 100yr old heritage duplex couldn't be in a better location: close to Parliament, on a quiet street in Golden Triangle, 2 blocks on either side from both funky Elgin St & its restaurants, shops, bars, and the leafy Rideau Canal walkway/ skateway. You have a private balcony with BBQ & furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable queen bed, plus two hideabeds (single & queen), study/ workout room, a smartTV, use of bike, and funky art. The space My home was built over a hundred years ago and has character. I love the original wood flooring and the ancient trees that shade the back yard. The quiet neighborhood is full of friendly neighbours. It is one block away from hipster Elgin Street with its fun shops, bars and restaurants. But the reason I live here is how close all the pathways by the canal are - only two blocks away. I run, walk, skate, and bike the paths to work and to many fun destinations, including the well known Ottawa market area. In addition there are many public transit options within a couple blocks - bus, car sharing, etc. Guest access The whole apartment and large backyard balcony are yours, with a shared front entrance and backyard with the downstairs tenants Other things to note One parking space is yours in the front. This home is over 100 years old so comes with character. The tub is equally as old and so you are required to do a large step in (mobility wise). You have 2 bikes for your transport , please ensure to look them up when you are using them. Long stays - you can receive mail & packages, message me for further details. I do not charge a cleaning fee based on the expectation that you will leave my home as clean as you found it. I can share my cleaner’s info if you want to hire her. Please note my house rules before booking (no shoes inside, no indoor smoking, etc). You are responsible for garbage/ recycling/ compost. When full, the compost and garbage, & recycling must be put in the bins in the shed as there are raccoons and squirrels in the area. Wednesday is pick-up day, download Ottawa collection app for info as garbage is only every 2nd week and recycling rotates each week. You will need to put correct bins from plastic shed in backyard to the road and bring them back in.
