Homey Haven🏡 is a charming 1950s house with a modern feel, in the quiet Baltimore community of Violetville. This end of group rowhouse is a perfect home away from home for interns, travel healthcare staff, or tourists on a quick trip. 8 miles from BWI airport, 5min walk from St Agnes Hospital and <10 miles from other major hospitals. Visit the Inner Harbor 5 miles away, or other local fun spots - stadiums, restaurants, museums etc. Family friendly, sparkling clean & cozy! Responsive hosts!! Except for the washer and dryer, all furniture and appliances are brand new as of Mar 2023. Entrance: Walk up to the covered front porch, with 2 chairs and a small table; perfect spot for a glass of lemonade in warmer months, or a cup of coffee in a light spring breeze. For your comfort and convenience, the porch light comes on automatically when its dark, and shuts off when it's nice and bright outside. Smart lock entry (guests will be provided a personalized code for front door access). The cushions for the patio chairs are stored in the coat closet. Main floor: Living Room Make yourself comfortable in the cozy living room. Use our high-speed internet to login into your favorite personal streaming service on the 50-inch Roku TV. You can also check our small bookshelf to see if there's any book that you'd like to use while you relax at Homey Haven. There is a coat closet in the living room for those heavy winter coats. For your convenience if something spills from you, you can find a mop, a bucket and a broom, tucked neatly away inside this space. The cushions for the patio chairs are also in this closet. Dining Room with Coffee Station Continue on to the separate dining room with spacious dining table for your dining comfort. What, you can bring your favorite and get access to a coffee maker? Yup! Need a little pep in your step after a long day of travel? Step over to our Coffee Station nestled in the back corner of the dining room. Here you will find all that you need to make some complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, or tea when you arrive - but bring your own so you can continue to make your favorite beverage throughout your stay. Our coffee maker is compatible with K cup pods or grounds. The new (April 2023) window air conditioning unit for the first floor, is located in the dining area. Designated Workspace Sipping coffee/tea all day sounds like a good idea, but if you have to get some work done, there is a designated work area in the opposite corner of the dining room- complete with work desk, office chair, and desk lamp. Kitchen While Baltimore has some wonderful restaurants, a home cooked meal hits different. Our kitchen is fully equipped with all stainless-steel appliances and all the supplies you will need to make a nice home cooked meal. No need to pick up dried spices when you shop at any of the nearby grocery stores, because our spice rack is filled with an extensive variety of spices. While the main course simmers on the gas burners, or in the spacious oven, drop something onto the griddle that's built into the stovetop. Whether you'd like to save some leftovers to take to work the next day, or just to save some money on your next day outing in Baltimore City, there's enough room in our spacious refrigerator for you to store your leftovers. Sunroom While you wait on that home cooked meal, step into the covered sunroom at the back. On a nice day, dine at the extra table that is in the sunroom, with the back door opened for some breeze from the backyard. Think of this room as an enclosed outdoor space with a roof. Upstairs: The staircase to upstairs starts in the living room. All bedrooms have window air conditioning units (new as of May 2023), ceiling fans, beside lamp with USB port, closets with hangers, and full-length mirrors. Front bedroom - largest bedroom, queen size bed [Zinus 12 in Cooling Essential Foam Mattress], dresser. A full-sized ironing board and a clothes basket are stored in the closet of the front bedroom. An unassembled pack n play is stored in this closet as well. If you have an infant, and your booking is confirmed more than 48hrs ahead of arrival, we will set up the pack n play in preparation for your arrival - but even if you do a last-minute booking, it will take you just a few minutes to set up the pack n play yourself, so not to worry. Middle bedroom- full size bed [Zinus 12 in Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress] and dresser Smallest bedroom - Twin bed [Zinus 08 in Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress] and dresser. Bathroom - full bathroom with shower and complimentary body wash, shampoo, and conditioner Linen closet- with extra blankets and towels. A hair dryer, clothes iron, and a first aid kit are also stored in the linen closet. Basement floor: Washer, and dryer Folding table Extra space that guests can use as storage for luggage, exercise equipment etc. Locked closets for storage of extra household supplies and a half bathroom. These closets and the half bathroom are not accessible to guests. The basement is clean and dry- so nothing to fear down there. However, unlike the rest of the house, the basement has not been updated. So, expect to feel like you are in a 1951 basement if you choose to go to the basement to use the washer/dryer or to store anything. And oh, the basement might still look like a 1951 spot, but rest assured the washer and dryer are much younger than that! :) Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of 2 locked spaces in the basement area that are used for storing extra household supplies. There is a storage shed in the backyard that houses supplies for yardwork. Guests do not have access to this space. Smart lock entry and exit. Our official check in and check out schedule gives us flexibility and time to thoroughly clean the house after a guest checks out. We cannot guarantee an earlier check in than our official check in time - but if the house has already been immaculately cleaned after the last guest, by the time you arrive in town, we won't say no to a FREE early check in. We are happy to be flexible with this whenever it is possible. So just ask us and we will let you know!🌻 Check in is contact-less. Hosts are local to the area and are readily available via AirBnB messages. Peaceful community known as Violetville, nestled in Baltimore City, near the Baltimore County border. The community is known for its 1950s and 60s era rowhouses. Nice area for those morning or evening walks. Get to nearby conveniences (supermarkets, Walmart, pharmacies etc) in 5-8 minutes. Nearby highways including I-695 and I-90, make it easy to get started on a trip to just about anywhere from the neighborhood. Below is a list of some popular Baltimore spots and their proximity to Homey Haven, as well as the approximate drive times to these locations. -Baltimore Washington International Airport: 8 miles away (13 min drive) -Inner Harbor: 5 miles away (10 min drive) - Baltimore Art Museum: 8 miles away (12 -19 min drive) -Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine: 6 miles away (10-15 min drive) -Battle monument: 6 miles away (10-15 min drive) Other locations - University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) 3.5 miles away (8min drive) - Washington DC : 36 miles away (1hr drive) Homey Haven is close to convenience stores, Walmart, dollar stores, supermarkets etc. We are a 5 minute walk from two major bus lines! If you have your own car, rest easy with free on street parking; there's no hassle to finding a nearby parking spot. It's a house in the city, but when it comes on to how readily available free on street parking is, it feels like the suburbs. Plus parking is FREE! If you prefer to put your feet up and let someone else do the driving, Uber/Lyft can get you to most of the popular destinations within 8 to 12 minutes. Homey Haven was built in 1951. :) If parking is a concern for you, relax. The on-street parking here is typically seamless. Firstly, it's free! Who does not like free parking? :) Secondly, there are almost always parking spots right there on the street. If not, there are typically parking spots still within visibility of the house within a 2-minute walk away. It's a city house with a feel of the suburbs when it comes on to street parking!! Homey Haven is ideal for the traveler who wants to be in the city so they can get to conveniences in just a few minutes, but who simultaneously want to feel like they are in the quiet of the suburbs. The street is quiet and residential - but access to all the city "life" activities is easy and only a few minutes away. Where would you like to go? We can tell you exactly how many minutes from Homey Haven it is.
