Dodge Ridge is now open during the summer. Anytime is a good time to enjoy a snow getaway! Dodge Ridge is 15 minutes away and it has snow play for family fun 7 days a week, or Pinecrest Lake is even closer at 5 minutes away for a fun place to take the little kiddos to sled or a beautiful walk. The cabin is FIVE, five, I said 5 minutes away to the beautiful Apline lake called Pinecrest Lake! Just 15 minutes away is Mountain Biking from Beginner to Advance trails with bike rentals on site or bring your own! Take a Chair Lift rides up the mountain for a beautiful one mile hike down through wild flowers! It's all happening from Spring to Fall at Dodge Ridge! This cabin is great for family gatherings, friend reunions, a getaway baby shower, a bridal shower, or special family celebrations! This beautiful cabin has three private bedrooms and a loft. The loft is set up as a 4th sleeping area with two built-in twin beds plus a lounge space with a TV, a DVD player, and a game console. Additional beds include two king-sized beds, one queen bed, and a full sized sofa bed in the downstairs master bedroon for a total of SIX BEDS! Wow! There are two full bathrooms, including a luxurious, spacious master bedroom with an ensuite that has a private sitting area, a mini library, a DVD player, a game console, and a deck with private exterior access. The living room is especially stunning with a window wall bringing in natural light and views of the spectacular and grand Sierra pine trees. It turns into a magical winter wonderland when it snows! It evokes a feeling of bringing the outdoors inside. After you light up a cozy fire in the wood burning stove, It is the perfect spot to relax and unwind in this "retreat" like getaway!! The adjacent kitchen is loaded! There's full sized appliances and everything you would need to cook a special meal or bake some fresh treats! There's a dishwasher to aid with fast clean up so you can enjoy every moment of your stay. There is a large dining table with an additional chair nearby. There are two bar seats on the island as well. Dining Alfresco is always another choice, particularly during the spring, summer, and fall months! Bon Appetit! For indoor entertainment, we have you covered! There are two large flat screen TVs and a Nintendo and PlayStation console, so you can get your game on! For book lovers, there is a "Free Little Library" at the cabin.  "Need a book? Take one.  Have a book? Leave one." Not only is it super cute, it has a lot of different book options.  We have plenty of board games, puzzles, and playing cards, too! For outdoor entertainment, there are two spacious decks, with a propane BBQ grill! Currently, there's propane, but you may have to fill it if it runs out. There are plenty of deck chairs, and there's a horse shoe pit sure to bring your group loads of fun! Cold Springs is a unique community of vacationers, seasonal, and a permanent home community. It is the Gateway to the High Sierras, including the beautiful Emigrant Wilderness. The town folks are friendly and seem to always be willing to lend a helping hand! It is also surrounded by a lot of winter and summer places to enjoy activities, such as Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, Beardsley Lake, and Leland Snow Play, all within 5-15 minutes from the cabin. You can hike, swim, boat, water tube, kayak and fish in the summer and snow ski, snow tube, snowboard, snow shoe, cross country ski, sled, and ice skate in the winter! Also, the summers are cooler in Cold Springs due to the higher elevation, and the winters are truly a winter wonderland where you can experience beautiful snowfalls and plenty of snow to build Frosty The Snowman or Ms. Frosty! You can get around via a car during the summertime. For winter travel SUVs with 4 wheel drives, all wheel drives or snow chains for no wheel drives are needed. Please note that there is a phone on top of the refrigerator for local calling. The washer and dryer are only available for guests staying 5 or more days. Otherwise, it will be locked up. If you have concerns, please feel free to discuss this with me prior to your arrival. I can have it unlocked before arrival if you feel you will need it. For your convenience, we have firewood at the cabin. There is a $10 fee for a bundle of 8 pieces. Please let me know if you used the wood bundles and how many at the end of your stay, and I will request the fee via Airbnb. This helps with the cost of replenishing the wood. If you bring a pet with you, it must be listed at the time of booking. If a guest shows up with a pet, you must inform me of the pets arrival. Check out does not require any cleaning and minimal duties. We do require you to take home your own garbage for disposal. There is a close-by Pinecrest Waste Station down the highway as another option, but be sure to check the days and times it is open. It was our decision not to have garbage service, so every guest would arrive at a garbage free cabin. The bears knock over garbage in between pickup, and the county doesn't provide adequate bear proof cans. The bears and other wild animals forage for garbage as if on a route, but not at the Cabin House in the Forest! We do provide overflow cans in the garage. Please dont forget to remove the garbage before you check out. Please don't forget to turn off all lights and heating. Close all windows, and please lock all doors when you check out. Also, don't forget to empty out the refrigerator of items you brought, including unopened items. Also, please wash your dishes. There's a dishwasher to aid you in washing them prior to check-out. Early check-in may be available at no extra fee. Please ask if needed. Late checkout may be available for an extra fee of $65 up to 3:00 pm. Otherwise, if you're running late loading up the car, just message or text me to make me aware so I can communicate with the cleaner. There are three grocery stores within 5-10 minutes from the cabin. All of them have easy off highway access: The Cold Springs Market and gas station now serve hot food and breakfast burritos. The Pinecrest General Store has meat, fruit, vegetables, cold cuts, frozen food, bread, desserts, etc.. with a great selection of wine and beer. Last but not least, there is the Strawberry General Store, which has items most grocery stores do not stock, such as snow boots in the winter and fresh hot chili beans and cornbread. Yum! I would be remiss if I didn't mention our fabulous local restaurants such as Mia's. They make the best gourmet style pizza, delicious pasta, French Dip Sandwich's, salads, and much more, including delicious deserts and cake. Last but not least, The Strawberry Inn has a sit-down restaurant indoors and outdoors they have pavilion seating overlooking the roaring Stanislas River for a soothing dining experience. They have delicious pizza and many other delicious food options! There's a pool table if you want to play a game of pool. Also, they have an extensive bar selection saloon style! All in a family like atmosphere.
