Hidden away in historic Upper Bucks Co. this family-run/oriented retreat offers a serene escape from the hustle of everyday life. The property overlooks a protected creek valley surrounded by trees, rock ledges and the gentle sounds of nature. Guests can unwind in a truly tranquil setting, yet still be close to the convenience of small river towns such as Frenchtown, Milford, Lambertville and New Hope. Although there are endless opportunities for outdoor activities..This IS the place to relax. The cabin itself is a private, charming, open concept studio tastefully decorated with some personally handcrafted and re-purposed furnishings as well as modern amenities ensuring guests have all the comforts of home. It is located on top of a detached, two-story cedar-sided garage. Guests enter on the back deck, which is a great place to grill some dinner or just relax with a cup of coffee. A custom crafted kitchenette (no oven) allows guests to practice their culinary skills on a dual burner induction cook top. There is also a full-size refrigerator, microwave, french press and Nespresso Virtua coffee maker with a small selection of regular and expresso coffees for guests. There is a queen bed in the main living room and a day bed that pulls out to a king in the cozy 2nd bedroom. A large comfy couch in the living area provides plenty of space to curl up and watch a movie, read a book or catch an afternoon snooze. For your pets, there is a carpeted area for them to have their own play/sleep space. If need be, there is also a gigantic bean bag for them to sleep on, although kids may call dibs first. There is a spacious bathroom with a stand/sit shower and a vanity sink cabinet and 2nd side table with plenty of room to store your toiletries. There is a full-sized closets in the main room that includes plenty of hangers or room for luggage. Private gated driveway off a country back road. Although we are full-time residents, guests have access to the entire cabin/studio space. There are a few steps that lead up from the driveway and then a couple up to the deck entrance. Nothing difficult but they may be a challenge for those with limited mobility. The entire yard is open to your pet (s) granted they are accompanied and under the control of the guest. It is fenced in, but not 100% escape proof. Guest will be provided the gate code during their stay. We reside full-time on the property and try to be present/available to welcome guests when they check-in. If we are not home, we can always be reached via text or cell phone. You'll most likely see one of us coming or going throughout your stay, so give a shout if you need anything! In order to avoid a mile-long gravel road: from 611- take Hollow Horn to Cafferty to Headquarters OR take Deep Run Road to Dark Hollow to Cafferty We have a selection of outdoor equipment that guests can borrow during their stay. Kayaks, Paddleboards, 2 mountain bikes etc. Please let me know what you would be interested in doing and we can see if we can accommodate. Van Sant historic airport just a few minutes up the road. Van Sant is a small, grass runway airport that offers vintage bi-plane rides, glider rides, and more. It is a favorite location for classic car collectors to meet and show. Nearby Lake Nockamixon State Park offers mountain biking/hiking trails and is perfect for picnics. Get out on the lake for a paddle and you might catch a glimpse of the resident Ospreys and Bald Eagles. There are 2 dogs on the property full time, Finn and Poppy. Both are extremely people and animal friendly. Finn is very quiet. Pretty much a big drooling 85 lb puppy. Poppy is a big love bug. She will bark if she wants to play, and if you pet her, she will be your best friend for eternity. They will be outside occasionally throughout the day so guests should keep this in mind if accompanied by small children or pets. Guests are reminded that they are responsible for the actions/behavior of their pets while staying on the property. Please clean up after your pets. Poop bags are available. Aggressive animals will not be tolerated. Guests will also have access to a public fire-it and hot-tub. These amenities are available, weather permitting and once gone over with the host. Permission is required prior to use. The hot-tub is for family and public use. It is NOT in a private setting and is located right next to our home. Bathing suits are MANDATORY and guests are expected to conduct themselves in properly in regards to adult behavior. Hot tub closes @ 10 pm. Fire-pit will be lit for guests and a bundle of fire wood will be supplied at no cost.
