Description

Studio (9m x 3.5m) comfy peaceful little nook to rest your head. Simple open plan space in shared garden and all you could need for a break. Private entrance, only 1 mile to Audley End House & Gardens, Duxford, Parklands (Quendon Hall) , Saffron Walden 2 miles away. Mainline train station (Audley End) a few minutes away on foot, fast trains to London in under an hour &Stansted Airport/Cambridge in 15 minutes. Large enclosed garden & free parking on site. Please ask about dogs The space Light and bright open plan studio with double glazed french doors and full length double glazed window to let lots of natural light in. The Nook is snug and warm and fully insulated (heat and air con is provided via Fujitsu air stage wall mounted unit). There are wooden floors, spot lights, USB ports, the space is light and bright with high ceilings. Hard wired SMART TV operated by Wi-Fi served by a Deco mesh system. There is no cooker but a little kitchen with a sink, under-counter fridge/freezer, cheese toasty maker, rice cooker, small hob ring, microwave, toaster and kettle. The space is best suited to light meals and simple snacks. There is a small breakfast bar with seats for eating. There is a very comfy double bed (4ft 6) with crisp and clean bedding. A lsofa with throws and cushions. A desk and chair can be requested. A good sized en-suite with a loo, sink and walk in shower (1000x700). There is plenty of hot water. There is a large grassed fully enclosed shared garden and 2 large patio areas with seating. There is a double seat outside the patio doors with small bistro set for your comfort. You can move the table and chairs to the far patio area but not on the owners patio. Parking is on the large driveway. The village is quiet but Audley End mainline trains go regularly from the station which is opposite. There are direct trains to Stansted Airport, Cambridge and London. The pub in village is The Bell and it is a thatched traditional pub dating back hundreds of years. Just outside the village at Compass Couttard Cafe there is also a small bakery served from the owner’s barn, a farm shop, deli and cafe, a Norman church, park with equipment and football nets, a table tennis table and village green with cricket pitch and nets, pre-school, village hall, car garage, hairdresser and plenty of walks. Nearby villages of Newport, essex have a local shop, cafe, spa and beauty salon, pharmacy, Indian restaurant, Post Office, bakery. Plus 2 pubs which serve food. Saffron Walden is 2 miles for large supermarkets (Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Waitrose), several gyms, swimming pool, shops, twice weekly outdoor artisan market etc. Thaxted is 8 miles, Stansted is 12 miles with a direct train to the terminal taking under 15 minutes. Bishops Stortford is close and accessible by train. The village is semi-rural and only a handful of takeaways deliver - an Indian, dominoes and there is a pizza takeaway in the village. We do have dogs and they will be using the garden - the garden is the family garden and with permission you may use it. Please expect dogs to be in the garden at times. Guest access The Nookette has its own private entrance and is for sole use. There is a shared garden and driveway. The little gravel area outside the accommodation has bistro table, 2 seats and little bench seat. The patio at the far end can be used and you should move your table there if you wish to use it. Please do not use the main patio close to the main house except to exit and enter through the gate. The gate is shared access and to keep the dogs safe you must ensure you lock it when going through. Thank you! Other things to note We allow well behaved family dogs/cats and those that do not bark. We will ask the breed of your dog before accepting a booking. Dogs must not be left alone (a sitting fee can be paid if needed) The owner has dogs and you should not stay if you don’t like dogs and expect not to see one or hear one. You may use the garden but should expect from time to time to see the dogs out.
