Located just two blocks from the downtown Wausau restaurant and shopping district, this modern ground floor 2 Bedroom apartment is tucked in a unique and private location which offers easy access to enjoy downtown by foot, bike or car. The apartment is well suited for a busy work trip, busy vacation, or just to relax. March 2026 note- work trip guests have particularly appreciated this apartment recently. Great improvement in 2025 in adjacent downtown area and pedestrian access. The space This is a modern ground floor apartment fully outfitted for relaxing stay or for rest and recuperation from busy days working or playing. - Full kitchen,2 BR, 1 bath. Each BR has queen bed, and living room has sofa sleeper(Full size hide-a-bed). Apartment sleeps 5-6. - Breakfast nook off kitchen. Enjoy relaxing views of Rib Mountain-and the slopes of Granite Peak ski area in the winter- off in the distance while sipping morning coffee or evening beverages, or working remotely. - Bathroom has shower (no bathtub). - Full kitchen amenities, including but not limited to: two coffee brewers- regular pot and Keurig single-serve, coffee and tea provided, full kitchenware (both nonstick and separate stainless steel pot and pan sets). basic cooking supplies(olive oil, sugar, spice rack, etc), iron/ironing board, cordless Shark floor vacuum, basic cleaning supplies, filtered water from refrigerator, Brita water filter pitcher, electric fireplace. - Fiber optic internet. - - Washer and dryer in apartment(full size), detergent and fabric softener dryer sheets provided. -Storage shed for outdoor gear- bikes, snowboards/skis, etc. -Outdoor recreation- for longer stays, feel free to inquire about loaner outdoor rec equipment. No guarantees, and this is dependent on schedule, availability, etc. For example we may be able to provide kayaks in summer, and sleds and possibly even downhill skis/boots (Regarding skis, this is old/beginner equipment, not modern, more suitable for families or beginners trying for the first time. For example those coming to Wausau specifically for a ski vacation will have their own equipment or be renting) . The sleds are intended for children/minors accompanied by parents. -Ample parking: RV or camper parking is available on site. There are NO HOOKUPS, but ample parking for up to 2 RVs or campers. {SCHEDULE NOTE: we currently are leaving a day between stays. If a single day shows blocked on the calendar, that you wish to book as the the first day of your stay, please message me. We may be able to make it available, especially if you will be arriving after 7 PM or so.} ---TEMPORARY NOTE for Spring 2026---in 2025 the city finished construction of new streets between this apartment and the restaurant/shopping area, so the shortest pedestrian route is now free of street construction, and very pedestrian-friendly. The part of downtown closest to the apartment improved a lot in the last year. Host does not live onsite. This apartment is the 1st floor apartment in a duplex building. Guest parking and entrance are in the front (the 2nd floor long-term resident has separate parking and separate entrance in the back of the building- on the opposite side from front entrance.) This is not a residential neighborhood. It is an out-of-the-way corner, adjoining a sleepy mixed-commercial street, right next to downtown. March ***2026 UPDATE- while the apartment is as good as ever, and the nearby downtown is better than ever with new additions completed, the street block outside the front door is somewhat in disrepair due to construction and the effects of winter. Our place is still quiet and out-of-the way, still easy to get to, but the short block the street is on isn't the prettiest at the moment! *** Most guests who choose to book this apartment really enjoy the unique location, which is fairly quiet, isolated, and partly bordering a wooded area, while being right next to downtown. However, those who are seeking a residential neighborhood may prefer other areas of town.
