The Container Ship
Description
The Container Ship is New Zealand’s first and only fully restored Container Airship. It appeared in 2021 tethered above our sheep paddock, on our small lifestyle block located right on the southern boundary of Hamilton. The origin of the ship is believed to be from an unknown multi-verse. The space The extensive restoration of the ship became a lockdown project of ours. It proved challenging and slow as the ship could not be lowered to the ground. The design and refitting of the interior was done by us from my workshop on the property. As many recycled materials as possible were used. Recycled tōtara and metal are main features. Unfortunately, during a cyclone in 2023, the airship’s balloon structure was torn off. So now, after the renovation, the ship is resting in the paddock. There is an ongoing search for the balloon structure. Extensive 'Goggle' research gave us the probability that it was not an exploration airship and that it would have been privately owned and used for luxury weekend excursions. This is a genuine airship and has no connection to the fictional ‘steampunk’ theorists. We have decided to share this unique opportunity with travellers from this world, or wherever you are coming from. Without the balloon structure, we can assure you that the airship will not ascend. What it has ..... Kitchen has a full size fridge, full size oven with gas hobs, and a cafe style breakfast bar for dining with a view. Bathroom has a big shower and a heated towel rail. Bedroom has a Queen bed with a 50” smart TV on the wall. Living area is small but cosy with bi-fold doors leading out onto a big deck. Wifi and an ethernet port are provided. Guest access Guests enter through the main driveway to our house and gardens. Although the Container Ship is located near our house, the ship is all yours to enjoy. There is self-check-in, your own private parking, and your own deck with a view overlooking the chickens and sheep paddock.
