Set within its own enclosed garden sanctuary - complete with a fire pit, BBQ, and the option to hire a traditional cedar hot tub - this lovingly restored cottage offers the ideal base for exploring North Devon's coast. Located just a short walk from Croyde's village centre and beach, Chuggs Chill Out invites families to enjoy a slice of traditional village life with a coastal twist. Once part of the original 18th-century Chuggs Farm, the property blends period features with modern comforts, creating a warm and memorable home away from home. Original low beams, solid wood doors, a beautiful stone fireplace with bread oven, driftwood handrails, and a modern electric AGA define the interior. Unique touches like hand-painted murals by local artist Steve P.P. and coastal-themed décor enhance the cottage's relaxed, character-rich atmosphere. LIVING AREA The open-plan living and dining space includes comfortable seating and a table for five. A smart TV and board games provide entertainment, while the original stone fireplace with feature (non-functional) log burner and bread oven adds historic charm. KITCHEN Stylish and well-equipped, the kitchen includes a Total Control electric AGA, hot plates, Smeg fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and high-quality cookware - perfect for preparing everything from quick breakfasts to family dinners. BEDROOMS Upstairs you'll find two characterful bedrooms. The master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling, super king-size bed, a pull-out child's bed, and a TV - comfortably sleeping up to three. The second bedroom is ideal for younger guests, offering cosy bunk beds and its own TV/DVD player. Both rooms combine traditional charm with thoughtful modern touches, providing a restful retreat for families. BATHROOMS Ground floor: Shower room with washing machine and tumble dryer. First floor: Family bathroom with shower-over-bath. OUTDOOR SPACE The landscaped garden is designed for year-round enjoyment. There's a decked area with hot tub (optional hire: £195), oil drum BBQ with chimney, and handcrafted wooden furniture. An outdoor shower is perfect after beach days, and a Kadai fire pit is ideal for marshmallows under the stars. Driveway parking for two cars is accessed via twin gates. GOOD TO KNOW Complimentary Wi-Fi, bed linen, and towels (including hot tub towels) included. Beach is a 15-minute walk; village centre just 2 minutes away. No pets allowed. As a period cottage, please note low beams, steep stairs, and vintage surfboards (display only). A stair gate is fitted at the top, and a door at the bottom adds peace of mind.
