The Hilltop Hideaway was lovingly built in 2023 by newlywed hosts, Jake & Fran. With an emphasis on quality finishes & modern details, the space radiates a luxurious yet charming feel. With 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms & an open living space, this is the perfect place to relax & connect with travel partners! J&F placed a big emphasis on outdoor entertaining with a massive covered deck, the picnic table patio, & access to a cedar barrel sauna! Whether coming from close or far, you deserve it! The space The Hilltop Hideaway was built in 2023 as a carriage home (a smaller, secondary dwelling) on J&F's acreage lot where they live. It is a fully detached, private, ground level entry, ranch style home. It is located in a quiet, highly coveted & upscale residential neighbourhood of Sooke called Saseenos. Saseenos is a locals-only spot with unspoilt nature & a micro-climate of warm weather. The famous Galloping Goose Trail is just a stones throw distance away providing for some of the best local trail walking & cycling around! Shops & restaurants are generally only a 5-10 minute drive away, though some are even walking distance! The area is peaceful & secluded! The build itself is a stunning 2 bed, 1.5 bath home with approximately 1,000 sq.ft of quality finished & beautifully furnished living space. There is an extra 500 sq.ft of covered, vaulted, & weather protected outdoor deck space - a perfect way to enjoy the outdoors any time of year. Inside, you will immediately be welcomed with wide-plank oak hardwood floors & vaulted 12' ship lap ceilings. The open-concept floor plan highlights the gourmet styled 2-tone kitchen with shaker cabinets & quartz counters. High-end Fridgidaire Professional Series appliances have been provided to make the guests cooking experience as luxurious as possible. Spacious island with pendent lights & bar overhang make a great space for late night entertaining. In-line formal dining area is perfect for festive occasions. 9' sliding door leads to covered deck & picnic table patio area. Cozy living room complete with 55" Samsung smart TV. Feel free to sign into your Netflix account! Stunning primary bedroom with king bed & dual closets. Secondary bedroom with queen bed & single closet. Sleep is important, so both rooms have Endy brand memory foam mattresses. Expansive 4-piece main bath with heated tile floors & dreamy walk-in shower. Second bathroom is a 2-piece powder room with access to full laundry. Outside, find a full dining table set up & 4 comfy Adirondack lounge chairs on the covered deck for year round out door living! Throw blankets provided to keep cozy. If you feel like catching some (sun)rays, we have also provided an exposed concrete patio with a picnic table to enjoy the sunshine! Lastly, we provide access to a shared 8' cedar barrel sauna with a 'cold-only', outdoor rain shower for the ultimate in West Coast relaxation! Sweat it out, cold-rinse it off, kick your feet up, & enjoy! In the Wintertime, enjoy South facing views of the Sooke Basin, East Sooke Hills & Olympic Mountain Range beyond. In the Summertime, look out to a wall of green foliage & birds chirping. If you get bored, feel free to peer down onto the two neighbourhood thoroughbred horses, Arlo & Cole. In addition, we encourage travellers to bring either a walking stick or a bicycle (mountain or trail) to take in the beauty of the Galloping Goose Trail, accessed right down the road. GENERAL TRAVEL TIMES: Sooke Core reachable by car in 7 minutes. Langford Core reachable by car in 15 minutes. Approximately 45 minutes to Downtown Victoria & 1 hour to BC Ferry/Victoria International Airport. All areas also accessible VIA walkable bus route *beware of hill*. Guest access Guests will have full access to the home (lower level garage excluded). This includes the main living area, the covered deck, & the picnic patio. Guests will have shared access to the barrel sauna. The barrel sauna is located in a private, impartial area on the acreage, & allows for multiple users throughout the day. That said, our guests take priority & we honour their privacy first! Other things to note You may have noticed from photos, there is a lower level to the home used as garage/storage space. Don't worry, when we have guests, the garage is rarely accessed to ensure the guests privacy & quality of stay! When we built the home, we put an emphasis into sound deadening, and thus, there is a 2" layer of concrete between the floors. So have no fear, it will be quiet down below & you will be the only guests residing in the home! Our main home is approximately 40' away with great separation, fencing, & privacy. We pledge to do our best to respect the privacy of the guests during their stay in order to make their stay as enjoyable as possible.
