The Waldoboro Inn Room 1
The Waldoboro Inn is an Italianate mansion built in 1880 by Captain John B. Stahl, one of the town's illustrious sea captains. The three private bedrooms in the original mansion are all en suite. The main floor has a spectacular living room, dining room and a billiards room, all of which are available to guests. All the rooms are light-filled and airy, looking out on mature perennial gardens. Everything about this building and its grounds will take you back to a quieter and gentler time. The space Room 1 has high tin ceilings, huge wooden parlor doors and south and west facing windows that let in gorgeous natural light all day. This is the only ground floor room and is an ideal selection for anyone who prefers not to climb stairs. The en suite bathroom has a walk-in shower. The idea for this inn was to create an experience rather than just a place to rest your head. The scale and proportions of the rooms with their high elaborate tin ceilings and large windows makes the rooms feel quite grand and their inhabitants special. All the rooms are carefully curated with contemporary art and unique furnishings designed to engage our guests. Make yourself at home in the communal kitchen preparing meals or packing picnics for the next day's adventure. Connect over a game of pool in our classic billiard's room or transport yourself to another time and place just wandering our gardens Behind the Inn, the mansion's original carriage house has been converted into a wine bar - Ida's. Showcasing natural wines from around the world alongside local beer and snacks, Ida's is the perfect place to wind-down the day or have a drink before catching a show at The Waldo Theatre next door.
