Anchor Me is a cosy stand alone cottage situated at the rear of your hosts property. Relax and unwind in this endearing setting with just a couple minutes stroll down to Matheson Bay beach. In fact, from where you park your car in the driveway it's around 100 paces to the beach! Please note, the cottage is ideal for a peaceful, couple’s only getaway. No children or pets. Enjoy the local area boasting magical beaches and a raft of other activities. Check out @anchor_me_cottage The space The cottage, circa 1930s, is one of the early dwellings built in Matheson Bay. Your hosts have lovingly renovated the cottage for your comfort. Walking up the charming boardwalk, the main entrance takes you under a covered pergola with WC. Entering the cottage you walk into a lobby area with shower/basin. Supplied is a raft of teas and coffee plunger, toaster, plus a bar fridge where you can keep your wine and cheese chilled. You’ll be spoiled with complimentary breakfast granola, Matakana Roasters coffee, milk and a jar of cookies to go with your coffee or tea. The bedroom, with french doors opening onto the front deck, includes a queen bed, drawers and clothes rack. Unwind in the sitting room’s comfortable arm chairs or enjoy all day sun on the front deck. If the weather allows there is also a side lawn for outdoor lounging with a peep to the ocean, and star-gazing in front of the chimenera. The cottage has fast Wi-Fi, smart TV and in the cooler months, heaters and electric blanket are supplied. Cooking facilities are available for only three or more night stays however a Weber BBQ is provided for two night stays. An easy stroll down the road takes you to Matheson Bay, a sheltered all-tide beach perfect for a dip, or try the delightful waterfall bush walk. Goat Island marine reserve is a short drive away where you can snorkel and take advantage of the glass bottom boat hire. The area has several great restaurants and cafes and Matakana village with farmer’s market, shops and cinema is a 10 minute drive away. Take some time in nature to enjoy nearby stunning beaches and coastal walks. Your hosts have been local to the area for many years and are a wealth of information - just ask! Guest access As Anchor Me is 30m behind the main house guests have full access to the cottage, deck areas and rear garden via the boardwalk. Other things to note The cottage only suits a couple. No children or pets. Kitchen facilities are available for three or more night stays. The premises are smoke-free. No smoking in the cottage
