The Old Wash House at Syke End

Sitting in the South-West corner of the Lake District National Park, The Old Wash House is the perfect base for exploring the surrounding mountains and lakes as well as Cumbria's South and West coasts. Dating back to the 1600s with lots of original features including an exposed stone fireplace and wooden beams, this charming cottage is located in the historic market town of Broughton-in-Furness and is only a short walk to the Georgian square, pubs, bakery and all other local amenities. The space Upstairs: An open plan living area with a smart TV, log burner and electric heater, dining area and a fully furnished kitchenette with electric combi oven, portable electric induction hob, fridge, microwave and kettle & toaster. The fire will be made up ready for you to light and one small basket of logs plus one small basket of Kindling will be provided per stay. Downstairs: A cosy bedroom with a double bed, storage and an electric heater. A fully fitted modern bathroom with an electric shower. Includes clean bed linen and towels. Dogs: We happily welcome dogs (please ensure to include them when adding guests), but due to the size of the space, we have to limit this to two dogs per stay. There is a set fee regardless of how many dogs you bring to cover the extra cleaning. Parking: There is free street parking available throughout the village, the closest being a 2 minute walk away. Depending on your dates, off street parking on our private drive may be available. Other things to note Please note that the cottage is attached to our home and looks out onto our garden, so you may bump into us from time to time.
