This beautiful historic home was owned by Laura Jackson Arnold, sister of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, and lived here at the time of the Civil War with her husband Jonathan and three children. Enjoy the history of the home while visiting historic Beverly or taking in any of the local attractions of Randolph county. Guests will be greeted by the expansive covered front porch providing a perfect place to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee or gather as a group. The first floor of this historic home boasts various sitting rooms where guests may enjoy the home's craftsmanship and rich history. Included on the first floor is the kitchen, dining space, sun porch, and a bathroom. The kitchen is ready for use, featuring pots, pans, utensils, drinking glasses and dishware. The home also offers three large furnished bedrooms featuring all located on the second floor and accessed only by stairs. Also Included with the property is a spacious outdoor area providing the perfect setting for outdoor recreation and games. Located in the heart of Beverly, this estate is within walking distance of the Beverly Heritage Center and just a beautiful scenic drive away to the historic Rich Mountain Battlefield. Guests may also enjoy lunch while traveling via railway on the Tygart Flyer or various outdoor attractions such as hiking or skiing at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, Canaan Valley Resort, or Timberline. Your hiking, biking, fishing, and kayaking experiences are limitless with various options within close proximity to the property. Also note that Elkins and its dining experiences as well as local shopping are just a 10-minute drive from the home. You may even find a surprise bottle of bourbon to taste or local wine for you to enjoy during your stay! Guests will have full access to the home and grounds apart from the outbuildings located on the property. Private parking right off Main Street allows plenty of space for multiple vehicles. We live within a few miles and are available most all times to assist with anything you need or to give you information on the home. We love to share the history of the home and our community. Located in historic Beverly. Within walking distance of all the local town of Beverly historic landmarks. Easy driving to all neighboring activities. Your hosts are two locals dedicated to serving their community while preserving its rich history and providing experiences for others to enjoy.
