Welcome to our 1926 Georgian Colonial! This was previously our personal home and it is now a vacation rental. We loved living in the Tangletown neighborhood as its near Lake Harriett and Lake Calhoun/Bde Maka Ska, Lake of the Isles, its by 50th & France shopping district, by downtown Minneapolis which features US Bank Stadium, Target Field/Minnesota Twins, and not too far from the Xcel Center in Saint Paul. This Georgian Colonial home is filled with history and charm. The main level features a living room and sunroom for lounging complete with crown molding, built-in bookcases, and gas fireplace for cozy evenings. The sunroom has a full size pull-out couch for overflow guest sleeping. The kitchen is complete with cookware, dishes, utensils, beverageware, dish-towels, coffee, and some small appliances. Dining room seats 6-7 comfortably with two additional chairs available. The upper-level has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, linen storage, and a hall closet with vacuum & bedding for the sunroom's pull-out couch. Primary bedroom has a King bed and an open-face bathroom with a walk-in closet. The West Hall Bedroom has a twin (2) trundle bed. The East Bedroom has a King bed and desk area. Downstairs features a second family room with board games, books for reading, an air hockey table, and TV area with sectional couch. The final fourth bedroom downstairs has a Full bed, armoire, and easy access to the laundry closet downstairs. We have a brand new basement as of 2021 with new boiler system, new water heater, new washer and dryer. New egress window in basement bedroom. Yard is fenced. We have an upper deck with views of Downtown Minneapolis and a lower deck great for relaxing in the warmer months. Easy access to bus route on Nicollet Ave, 9-11 mins to downtown Mpls, MSP Airport, Mall of America, and 50th & France shopping district. Perfect neighborhood feel while still being right in the heart of the city. We have keyless entry and a code will be messaged to you the morning of check-in. We also live very close and will be around should any issues arise. We live very close to the listing so I can stop over to check on any issues and I have a support system of general contractors, handymen, and tradespeople with whom I work with daily who are also available to step in for any issues that arise. We are always a message, phone call, or text away. Washburn Water Tower, Lake Harriet Rose Garden, Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, Tangletown Gardens for plants, Minnehaha Creek for kayak or walking paths for strolls, public (free) pool at Fuller Park. We have 6 off street parking spots. We have sidewalks for afternoon strolls, bus routes within 2 short blocks, and plenty of taxis or rideshare (Lyft or Uber) options. Tangletown is an upper-middle class neighborhood of winding streets overlooking Minnehaha Creek was developed beginning in 1886 by milling executive and politician Cadwallader Washburn and his brother, milling executive and Soo Line Railroad founder, William D. Washburn. Tangletown is such a neighborhood, and one that feels very different from any other in the city. It’s one of the few neighborhoods that completely steps off the grid and throws off the alphabetical-numerical nomenclature of the rest of Minneapolis. Here we find streets named Belmont, Longview, Prospect, Luverne, Gladstone, and maybe the best street name in the city, Rustic Lodge Avenue. These names are outliers, not turning up anywhere else in the city’s roadside vocabulary. Once the grid crosses 50th Street, it evaporates into a jumble of winding streets for a few blocks, slipping into Minnehaha Creek and then righting itself on the south bank, back into the orderly grids that continue uninterrupted all the way to the Minnesota River. Hence “Tangletown,” for that tangled topography. It’s the one neighborhood that feels like its name.
