We have 2 kayaks for you to use at no charge that are stored at the Shavertown Bridge on the Pepacton Reservoir. We can accommodate up to six people on the property but it will be cozy. 4 or 5 people is ideal. We are nestled at the bottom of the mountain in Margaretville, NY, only a couple hours from NYC. It's located in the beautiful Catskill Mountains with miles of hiking available! You can even access the well known 12.4 mile trail called Huckleberry Loop right from our backyard! We have gorgeous sunsets visible from our large deck! Escape the stress of the daily grind with our amazing, adjustable pressure, 2 person rain shower! 2 shower heads means a more romantic shower experience or a more relaxing shower all to yourself! Step out of the shower onto our amazing heated bathroom floor! At night, you won't believe how many stars are in the sky! Great for a romantic night of stargazing! After stargazing, head inside and cuddle up in our large 2 person Lovesac (super comfortable bean bag chair) and watch a movie, show or sporting event on our 70 inch Roku TV with Disney +, ESPN + or Hulu! You can also enjoy one of the many wonderful DVDs in our huge collection provided! You will have the entire cottage to yourself. Don’t worry, you don’t have to sacrifice technology for nature! We have a strong internet connection for streaming movies and shows and Wi-Fi calling. The kitchen is spacious and has an open concept dining room (which contains a beautiful wine barrel table and a breakfast bar with 3 bar stools) and living room. There are 2 skylights allowing for a bright and cheery environment and blinds to keep it dark at night. There is a brand new, full size electric stove. The kitchen/dining room also contains a dishwasher and brand new full-size refrigerator/freezer. For your convenience, we have included a large capacity washer and dryer with a starter amount of laundry detergent. There are only two small steps to get into the property but the laundry room is down a full flight of stairs. However, there is no other reason you would have to go downstairs if you do not have to do laundry. It’s just a short 3 minute drive to wonderful restaurants, antique shops, boutiques, cafés, coffee shops, and a full-size grocery store. Wii-Fi calling is available on the property and less than 2 minutes away there is full cell phone service. For your comfort, all rooms have individually controlled electric heaters. We also provide a variety of board games for you to use while you are on the property. If you’re looking for a nice festive place to celebrate the holidays, we include fall and Christmas decorations (including a Christmas tree) to add a little holiday cheer! As dog lovers ourselves, we are dog friendly! Unfortunately we cannot accommodate cats or other animals due to severe allergies in our family. All pets must be pre approved and cannot be left unattended unless they are in a crate. For the safety of our guests, we include outdoor security cameras. For your convenience and safety we provide smart locks with private codes that expire at checkout time. We are 30 minutes to the well-known Phoenicia Diner, 15 minutes to Andes, 30 minutes to Delhi and 1 hr. to Oneonta and Kingston. We are 15 mins from Belleayre Mountain which offers a swimming lake, kayaking & paddle boats in the summer & snowboarding and skiing in the winter, 25 mins from skiing & snowboarding in Plattekill, and 47 mins from zip lining, skiing & snowboarding at Hunter Mountain. Wild Animals This property is located at the base of the forest. The forest is the home to many types of wild animals. Although to this day we have not seen any dangerous animals on our property, they are definitely in the forest somewhere. Please respect the animals and be cautious if you encounter them to avoid getting hurt. Please do not approach them or feed them. Do not leave food out to attract them. Hiking:🌲🌲🌲 Although we do not have groomed trails on our property, if you do roam the woods, eventually, you will reach the groomed trails owned by the DEP. Please use the utmost precaution however, because initially accessing the woods may be challenging for some individuals, especially if you have an injury or disability. Walking by the waterfall can also be dangerous so exercise extreme caution. Consult your doctor if you have any questions about your ability to hike safely. Hiking on our property is done at your own risk. Remember, there are many areas on the property that could be dangerous for children also, so they must be supervised at all times. We will not be held responsible for any injuries that may occur. Please note: the pond neighboring our property, does not belong to us. Please do not fish or utilize the pond in anyway.
