Cozy single level in charming Carlton; 4 blocks from downtown. 2 decks to enjoy the outdoors. 100+ wineries within 10 miles. 4 blocks to downtown tasting rooms, restaurants and coffee shops. Centrally located between 3 college towns. 7 minutes to McMinnville for shopping, golfing, Evergreen Aviation Museum, Water Park & other attractions. 17 miles to Hagg Lake for hiking, swimming, boating or fishing. 1+ hour to the beautiful coast and 2+ hours to majestic Mt Hood. 55 miles to PDX airport. The space The main home was built in 1930 and served as the office to the Carlton Manufacturing Company, which was a sawmill back in the day. There used to be a lake directly behind the house. We have added on to the home and done many remodels as needed over the years, but have tried to retain the unique character of the original structure. Even though we are on the edge of town, we are nestled in a wildlife reserve. It is not unusual to see deer while you are enjoying the outdoors from either of our 2 peaceful decks. We offer a fully equipped kitchen for those who would like to cook their own meals. There is a ductless heat pump which provides both heating and cooling, with a remote control which is on the wall by the microwave. Cadet Heaters are in each room as well for back up heating. There are only two steps in the home, which go down to the third bedroom. This room also serves as a dining room and second living room area. It has its own window air conditioner. Guest access The entire property is yours to use, with the exception to the shop next door which has a studio apartment in it with a full-time tenant. Other things to note There is a ductless heat pump that provides heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. There is a remote control to set the temperature hanging on the wall next to the microwave. If you have any questions regarding how to set it, please reach out to us. Basically you just push the heat button for heat and set the temperature where you want it and do the same for AC. There is also a separate gauge telling you what the temperature inside is. We also have a window air conditioner in the third bedroom, as it can get warmer back there due to the west exposure.
