Cozy lake plot with its own dock at Bartjärn

Description

Relax with family and friends in our charming and simple cabin with private lakeside, private jetty and direct access to swimming, fishing and nature experiences at Bartjärn in Dalarna. Highlights: • Private lake plot with your own jetty, simple rowing boat and 1 SUP board • Generous grassy areas, outdoor furniture, BBQ, sun umbrellas and hammock • Cozy fireplace both outside and inside • Playable for children (trampoline, toys & Lego) • Exercise Equipment (Yoga Mats, Blocks, Dumbbles) See more pictures of Insta: cabinbarjarn The space Practical info: • The kitchen is small but fully equipped with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and sink with hot and cold water from your own well. • The water from the tap should not be drunk – bring your own or buy drinking water at ICA in Söderbärke (about 10 minutes by car). • Water consumption should be economical as all water from tap & toilet is refilled in a tank – thrift is appreciated. • Outdoor shower (May-Sept), hot water is enough for a shower 3-5 minutes at a time after that, the water heater must heat a new round of water. • Smart TV and Wi-Fi. • Air Conditioning. Sleeps: • Bedroom: bunk bed + sofa bed (1–2 people) • Living room: king size bed (160cm) • The layout of the rooms is open. Please note: • Sheets and towels are not included, but can be rented for SEK 200 per person, or SEK 150 per person for sheets only. • A travel crib for an infant is available to rent for SEK 150 per stay • Final cleaning is done by the guests, leaving the cottage in the same condition as upon arrival, but it is also possible to purchase final cleaning for SEK 1,300. • The plot is open to the lake without a fence – always supervise small children! • The depth right by the jetty is shallow and the bottom, but there is a public swimming area with diving tower about 200 meters away (the lake road). If you swim out a bit, it gets deeper, up to 18 meters. • In the garden, there are some flowers that are poisonous, including the foxglove, so keep an eye on the children so that they don't eat the flowers 🌸 Other Things to Know: • Parking for 2 cars, missing EV charging. • The forest is around the corner for berry & mushroom picking, hiking, sports and winter activities (Romme Alpin 30 min away). Detailed info about the cabin: Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a small hallway with the possibility of storage of outer clothing. It is also possible to dry wet clothes in one of the closets where there is a shoe dryer and a stand to dry gloves. Next to the hall there is a small toilet with washbasin. If you continue into the cabin, you will find a dining area with seating for 4-6 people with a view of Bartjärn. The kitchen is small but fully equipped with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and sink with hot and cold water from your own well. Since the well is old, it is recommended that you bring or fill your own containers with drinking water at the store in Söderbärke. Please note that all water is collected in a tank that must be emptied periodically, so be mindful not to waste or let the water run when not in use! The tank then fills up and means that the toilet cannot be flushed before the next emptying. In the kitchen, there is the water pump that pumps water from the well, this sounds and hums when the pressure builds up, for example after you flush in the toilet or flushed in one of the faucets. The sound can be experienced as a bit loud but is nothing strange and only goes on for a few seconds. When there is no risk of frost, it is possible to take a shower outside under the sky in our outdoor shower. Both hot and cold water are available (water turns on and off indoors in the toilet). The hot water is enough for one quick shower for one person due to small water heater. If one more person wants to shower, you have to wait a while so the water will have a chance to reheat. To the left of the hall is a bedroom with a bunk bed and a sofa bed with the possibility of making out for one or two people (80+80 cm). Also some toys and LEGO are available to borrow for the youngest. However, play should be under supervision, as our own children are happy to collect things and the toy boxes may contain traces of these finds. When you pass the kitchen, you come to the big room that serves as a living room and bedroom. In the living room area there is a large spacious corner sofa, armchair, smart TV and living room table. There is also a cozy fireplace that you can burn in. Please note that you have to open the damper before lighting the fire. If you use the wood in the cabin, we are happy to buy the corresponding amount at the store in Söderbärke which is reached in about 10 minutes by car. In the bedroom area there is a sleeping area with a double bed for two people (160 cm). There is also space to store clothes. Please note that this room is open plan. From the hall you will find the exit to the terrace. The terrace has a roof and here there is a dining table that accommodates 6 people as well as a barbecue, fireplace that you can burn in as well as two sofas for social hanging. The fact that the deck has a roof makes it possible to both hang out, eat and cook outside even if the weather is not the best. From here you also come out into the garden and lake and all open grass areas. There's also some herb orchards right off the deck with automatic solar irrigation that starts every three hours for a few minutes to water the kitchen garden. This hums a bit as it is watering. Feel free to take off the plants, but please harvest carefully and with care if you need anything for the cooking that you forgot to buy at the store. There's also a larger garden that you have access to up in the field. The cottage has only one neighboring plot directly adjacent, the distances between the houses are about 150 meters. Down by the lake, the neighbor also has a swimming jetty. A robotic lawnmower mows the lawn at night on the grounds in the summer. Therefore, leave no things on the lawn except the furniture that was in the front when you arrived. If it got stuck somewhere, please contact the host couple for instruction. The cottage is our home away from home, and although a bit old, and the walls and floor a little crooked and worn, it means a lot to us. So please treat it as your own, and take good care of it during your stay. Before you as a guest leave the cabin, you clean it and leave it, the terrace and the plot in the same condition as it was when you arrived. If anything breaks, this must be notified to the host. Smoking is not allowed! The forest is around the corner, take the opportunity to enjoy nature and discover all it has to offer. We hope you enjoy yourselves! Guest access Guests have access to the main cabin. There is also a locked storage room and a guest cottage that are not included in the rental rate. One of the closets in the bedroom will be kept locked for private belongings, as well as some cabinets - these have a "private" sign. Please avoid trying to turn the fittings; they are locked and have no turning function. Other things to note This place is a paradise for nature lovers and is suitable for those who want to take it easy and rest, but also for those who prefer an active vacation in nature. The area offers good opportunities for hiking, swimming, fishing, mushroom & berry picking, and sports activities. The property has no fences, and therefore we urge great caution if you are a family with children. Although it is not deep enough to dive directly at the water's edge, it is dangerous for children who cannot swim. If children are included in the stay, keep constant supervision when they are playing outdoors! Please note that it is shallow at the dock and it is not possible to jump from the dock, and that the lake bottom is muddy. About 200 meters away (Sjövägen) there is a small public swimming area with a small diving tower and a floating dock, where there may be some activity with other people, primarily from the village. The depth in the middle of Bartjärn has been measured by neighbors to be 18 m. In the garden, there are flowers that are poisonous, including foxglove. Keep an eye on the children and make sure nothing gets into their mouths 🌸 In the cabin, there is also a SUP (stand-up paddle board) available to borrow for guests with good reviews. In summer, there is also a smaller rowboat to borrow. Wear a life jacket. There is a trampoline on the property. For those who want to work out, there are yoga mats, yoga blocks and dumbbells to borrow (in and next to the storage cabinets in the living room). Why not do a workout outdoors or on the dock when the weather allows? If you like skiing, it is about a 30-minute drive to Romme, which offers great skiing for the whole family. Read more on their website; search for rommealpin. In winter, during the coldest periods, you can walk on the ice, and sometimes it is cleared for ice skating and cross-country skiing. However, be careful and do not walk on the ice if it is not frozen and thick enough, and bring your own safety equipment. Please note that Mother Nature controls the weather and wind, and there are no guarantees for sun and swimming.
