This private 2-bedroom vintage cottage is an idyllic off-grid retreat. Surrounded by a stunning natural landscape, it offers adventurous travellers and couples a peaceful getaway in a rustic setting. As you enter the cottage, an expansive front porch greets you with beautiful views of the countryside, offering the opportunity to unwind and reconnect with nature. Step inside and you will find a comfortable living area with simple and understated decor and a gorgeous minimalist bathroom. The space The decor and design of this reclaimed settlers cottage is understated and minimalist, designed to draw attention to the beauty of the natural landscape and the original charm of the cottage. Inside you will be greeted with glimpses of the past, and delighted with some of the comforts of the present. The cottage has original floors and timbers with some added touches of luxury. Simple but beautiful, the cottage and surrounding farmland is situated on the creek boundary of a working grass-fed Wagyu/Angus cattle farm. It offers a genuine experience of the Australian Bush and an insight into the lifestyle of the first farmers in the region. The ever changing environment of rural Western Queensland means it may be green surrounds or it may be dry - a real taste of the Outback and it's only 5 hours drive from Brisbane! Consider contacting us in advance to arrange a tour of the farm. On most days we would be able to show you around to enhance your experience of the country. The cottage is equipped with off grid solar power, an eco friendly compost toilet and many charming vintage furniture pieces. In the kitchen there is a full sized fridge and freezer, a gas oven and cooktop and a marble topped preparation bench. Bedroom One has a double bed. Bedroom Two has a queen size bed. With the environment in mind, we chose to install off-grid solar power on the property. In line with some of the constraints of having solar power, there is no microwave or air conditioning. Mobile phone reception may be limited with some networks (Telstra is fine). There is also no TV or wifi at the cottage, however there is 15 minutes of free wifi available at the nearby homestead. Relax and unwind without the distraction of technology - bring your walking shoes, good food and a good book! Please note that the fire pit will be operated in accordance with local fire safety guidelines - if there is a fire danger it will not be available for use. Guest access You will have access to the whole house and it’s surrounds. Feel free to take a walk around the paddock that the house is in and the walking track to the creek and the front grid.
