Walk 1 minute in either direction (West or East) and you'll encounter pristine white beaches. Both sides have wide boardwalks for bicycle riding or walking. On the bay-side you'll enjoy a relaxing sail bay with a calm atmosphere, while on the ocean-side you'll enjoy ocean waves for surfing and a lively beach scene. Either way, you'll call it paradise. YES, you read that right! Normally you would pay that to rent a couple of bikes for an hour or two. This will give you unlimited access during your stay. You will pick up the equipment in person at one of 3 local beach shops. The closest is a couple of blocks away, just a few minutes walk from your unit. We have a special arrangement with this shop and you will be able to check out unlimited equipment each day with our special certificate we will offer you. (Each adult will be required to sign liability waivers and present ID /credit card for security hold at the time of receiving the equipment.) AT THE TIME OF BOOKING the vacation rental, please let us know if you wish to add-on this amazing Beach Equipment All Access Pass to your stay! Guest access We offer self-check in via keyless digital entry. You will have private access to the unit so you may come and go as you please. There are no keys to lose, just a simple 4 digit passcode to remember. There is free street parking right in front of the apartment. Also there is a large recreation parking lot on Santa Clara Point nearby with a 5 minute walk. Keep in mind that parking can be challenging during the summer months and on weekends due to the close proximity to the beach. Other things to note There is plenty of free street parking. This property does NOT include a dedicated parking space and so this unit is ideal for people traveling without a car and arriving via taxi or Uber/Lyft. Due to its location across from the beach, street parking can be a bit challenging, especially during the summer months, late at night, or holiday weekends the rest of the year. Once you get here there is no need for a car. The beach is just across the street and there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. But if you do bring a car, not a problem. There is a large free public recreational parking lot a couple of blocks away. This property is heated with a space heater, which sufficiently warms the unit during the winter months. We supply AC during the peak summer months and early Fall (July - September), a portable AC in the bedroom and a window AC unit in main living room. When you first arrive the apartment might be quite warm because we don't always keep the AC's running when it is unoccupied. To rapidly cool down the apartment, simply open the windows and screened front door while running the ceiling fans to push out the hot air and pull in the cool air. The place should cool down in minutes with the cool ocean breeze. At that point close the windows and run the AC's. (If you do not follow this method, and simply run the AC's when you get in, it will likely take a couple of hours to bring the temp down to a comfortable level.) We can connect you with a private bonfire on the beach. Includes set up and take down, fire wood, steel fire drum, roasting sticks, hot dogs, and s'mores. A perfect activity while waiting for the nightly summer Sea World fireworks over the bay. Inquire for details. The vacation rental is thoroughly cleaned between each stay. However if you wish for a cleaning and change of linens during your stay we can arrange for the housekeeper to come for an additional charge of the standard cleaning fee. Please give us one day's notice so we can get this scheduled with the housekeeper. Please note that we have occupancy based pricing in our settings. Please select the correct number of people in your group at the time of booking to get the correct pricing for your stay. Keep in mind, if you add more people to your group after booking the rate may adjust slightly. There is an additional charge of $20 per night for each additional person after the initial 2 people. This keeps our rates low and affordable for our average group size for this listing and helps us charge an appropriate fee for the additional linens and utilities used by a larger group size.
