Pack your bags, gather your crew, and make some unforgettable memories together. 🌄✨ Guest access The entire home is yours to enjoy. ** Please no more than 4 people age 16 or older at the cabin at one time, to allow for a comfortable experience for all and proper use of the septic system and amenities. Thank you.** Other things to note 📆 As private owners, we offer unique dates at unique properties. It is your responsibility to purchase "cancel for any reason" travel insurance. Our cancellation policy will be enforced even if you choose not to get travel insurance. ** Please no more than 4 people age 16 or older at the cabin at one time, to allow for a comfortable experience for all and proper use of the septic system and amenities. Thank you.** ♨️ For heating and cooling the main cabin, we have a wall mini-split unit. To adjust the temp, you only need to remove the remote hanging on the wall by kitchen door, point the remote at the unit and press the up/down arrows. Please do not touch any other buttons. It may take at least 30-60 min to fully heat the cabin. Most guests are comfortable with it set between 67-70 degrees. If desired, you can also use the the remote-operated electric fireplace inside the stone fireplace, the radiator space heater (in bedroom closet), and/or the heater in the bathroom (knob on far right) to help warm up the cabin faster. To operate the the electric fireplace heater inside the living room fireplace: Open glass door to allow the heat to dissipate, then use the remote control to turn on and adjust settings. When you press the button to turn off, it will keep blowing for about 1 minute. It provides a cozy ambiance and puts out a nice amount of heat. ** Please note that nothing should EVER be burned inside the stone fireplace nor anywhere inside the cabin.** 🛏We do not recommend using the bunk house as a living/sleeping space when outside temperature is 60 degrees or below. The cabin itself can sleep up to 6 by using the king bed, pull-out couch, two chairs and ottoman that fold out to a bed. We want everyone to be safe and comfortable! 🛶🏖 The back of the cabin is just a few feet from the lake (open water), so if you have curious dogs or children, adult supervision is critical– safety first, always. The lake is private for those living on it, and as a guest you are welcome to swim and fish in the lake and use the dock and boats provided at our property. Some prefer to wear water shoes while others prefer to feel the sand between their toes. If you would like a large public beach, check out Ludington State Park Beach or Kenwood Park & Beach in Cadillac. There is also a smaller public beach just 3 miles away from the cabin at Idlewild Beach. 🚘 🏍 The front of the cabin faces a road that can be busy with fast traffic. Please keep children and dogs away from the road at all times! ATVs and motorcycles are very common in this area. 🐕 We love dogs! Dogs MUST be kept on a leash or tie-out anytime they are outdoors. Please pick up all pet waste promptly so as not to attract unwanted critters. 🚽 Due to the septic system, only bodily waste and toilet paper should be flushed. Feminine products and even "flushable" wipes must be put in the trash can and NOT in the toilet. 🍳For your safety, please only use the stove, oven, washer, and dryer when someone is present in the home throughout entire cycle of the appliance. Do not leave unattended. 🐶🧩To help us keep our rates reasonable and not have to charge extra cleaning fees, please do lot let animals on the furniture unless a couch cover or a blanket is in place, and please keep the bunkhouse/game room organized and tidy. 🪵🔥 Firewood for the outdoor firepit is available, but to help keep rates reasonable, we ask that you please limit to 5 logs per stay. If more is needed, you are welcome to purchase from us for $1/log, or purchase in town. Pinecones and twigs found throughout the property are also great for burning in the firepit. 🔊 For the safety and security of our guests, we do have external security cameras that are on for audio and video. 🐻🦌This property is surrounded by all types of wildlife: deer, birds, squirrels, frogs, insects, fish, snakes, and even bears are possibly in the area. We provide regular pest prevention, but being in nature there is always a possibility you may see an occasional unwanted critter in or near the cabin. **Please read through all instructions and rules for the hot tub before use. Please contact me if you have any questions about it. 🍽 We highly recommend Jone's Homemade Ice Cream, Wolf Lake Snack Shack, and the Log Bar in Baldwin, and the Chase Creek Smokehouse in Chase for unique dining experiences. ☃️ For winter we temporarily remove the hammock and boats from use. This is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests during the colder months. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but rest assured, there are still plenty of cozy amenities and activities available for you to enjoy during your stay. For larger groups, we do have another lake cabin approximately 25 min away, north of Reed City. Ask us about discounts to rent both! We hope you have a wonderful stay filled with experiences and memories at the Lake Log Cabin! 🩵
