The Garden Retreat

The Garden Retreat is a self contained dwelling, at the end of our garden. In a quiet residential area of Dorchester, in the summer there may be some noise from the surrounding gardens. Access from the road, leads directly to the Garden Retreat. We are in easy walking distance (about 10 minutes) from the centre of Dorchester. here you will find Cafes, restaurants and shops Dorchester is an historic town, with many place of interest. No Visitors. No smoking or vaping, on the premises. No pets. The space The garden retreat, has an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area. There is a separate bathroom with, toilet, hand basin and shower. The bedroom is compact. It has a double bed, a hanging rail, bedside tables with lights, Mirror and console table. The Garden room benefits from a modern Kitchen. With a washing machine, a gas hob, electric oven, Microwave, kettle, Mini fridge and toaster. There is full gas central heating, with easy to use timer and thermostat. There are coat hooks outside under the canopy for wet coats and walking boots. You have your own fenced off garden area, with a decked area, with seating and a table. Please note these mobility issue. The door into the garden retreat is about a 60 meters walk from the road. There are 2 steps in the garden of 12cm each in height. There is a threshold into the Garden retreat of about 10cm and a step-in shower tray of 10cm in height. There are no hand rails in the garden, or the Garden retreat. Guest access This is a self check in airbnb. So you will need to read the check in details that are sent to you a few days before arrival. There is plenty of free street parking. You will always find a space close to the property on the road. Please do not park on the drive, as it is in constant use. There is a key safe for check in. you will be given the code 24hr before arrival. The Garden Retreat is for your own use. We do not permit additional visitors. Please do not use the main garden. We have a lively resident dog, called Woody. Please let us know if you are nervous of dogs, and we will keep him indoors, upon your arrival. He has his own fenced in garden area, where he may bark when you walk past, if he is in the garden. He is an escape artist. so please make sure the 2 side gates are shut, and the gate to the garden retreat. Please note these mobility issue. Other things to note We are local people and are happy to give advice while you are here. There are brilliant transport links. 2 train stations, going to London and Bristol. National express and local buses. The world famous Jurassic coast line is on your doorstep. With lovely views and places of interest to visit. Dorchester is famous for the author Thomas Hardy and the poet William Barnes. And the Tolpuddle martyrs, who formed the first trade union. We have a brilliant local museum and a separate Shire hall with its courtroom and courthouse, dating back to the 18th century. Dorchester also has remains of a Roman town house, and a Roman open air amphitheatre. And probably the most famous iron age hill fort in England, Maiden Castle.
