Orchard Retreat Malabar Peach & Apple Orchard. Peaceful and Pet Friendly
We are a hobby orchard in Ashland Co. between Loudonville and Ashland. Pet friendly. Amish area in Wayne Co. is SE; Malabar Farm S.P. and Mohican S.P. south; Wooster east , Mansfield west. 4200 SF on 16 acres with woods, pond, apple, pear and peaches. Very peaceful but just 1 mile to US 30. Entire upstairs of house with private entry off deck. Sleep up to 6. The front side can be rented to sleep 12 total. Great for big families wanting to share a house or keep in separate halves. The space There are areas to explore if outdoor people. Take a hike, play corn hole, fish, use the fire pit near the house or by the pond. If not they can just relax indoors or sit on the second floor deck. Puzzles, games, a ping pong table. Great WIFI and 40 some TV stations. 1200 sq. feet so there is a lot of room to stretch out. Couch in great room could sleep extra kid or younger adults. Not recommended for older folks if they cannot do 16 steps. You are renting an upstairs unit about my workspace. You have no common area with the front of house which is a separate listing and not accessible to you. In the immediate Jeromesville / Mohicanville area, we have an 18 hole course at Mohican Hills and bird hunting at Tallmadge Pheasant Hunting Preserve. The oldest and largest Sycamore Tree in N. America in just up the road for any tree huggers. We have Amish living and working in the area so buggies along SR. 89 are common site. We press apples cider on Wednesday with the Amish from early Sept. to late Nov. You are welcome to roam my 18 acres. Bring your boots and gloves if you want to pitch in . Always trees to be pruned, fencing to mend, fire piles to burn. I have allowed a lot of area to grow wild for wildlife. Excellent bird watching. There are some spots you can walk with sneakers, but if you want to explore boots recommended. Please do not climb trees , or touch bee hives. (Current NO BEES) There are two fire pits with wood that is found there. You can fish for free in the pond for large mouth bass , crappie, and blue gill. No guns allowed to be discharged on the property. I offer $$ archery hunts from late Sept. until late Jan. Axe throwing available with advance request. A pet is welcome but we must be notified of such and reserve the right to decline. Peaceful easy feeling. It can be so quiet your ears will hurt. At night you will amazed at the sounds of nature. Did I mention the big sky? Awesome sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. The stars at night can be outstanding . We are at 3rd or 4th highest elevation in Ohio. Fall colors are spectacular. Crops are in full color in late Sept. Tree color peak around 15th of October. Peach trees turn yellow then orange. In spring time peach trees bloom first in mid April. Pink flowers actually come before the leaves. Apples bloom second in early May with white flowers after leaves are out. In June surrounding farms planted and you can watch corn /soybean grow. Guest access Lock box with key so I can interact with quests or not. There are two units with no shared interior space. Each has private outside entry. Please park at bottom of the steps. Other things to note Weekly and monthly rental available. Available during winter months on a weather permitting basis. We do not guarantee that you will be shoveled out if it snows.
