Cottage in a lovely North Oxfordshire village

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene cottage. Nestled between the hustle and bustle of Oxford and the beauty and calm of The Cotswolds, the Cottage provides a newly refurbished home from home to stop, relax and explore the surrounding area: Blenheim Palace and Woodstock (7.5 miles), Soho Farmhouse (8 miles), Bicester Village (8.5 miles) and Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm (12 miles). The Cottage sleeps up to 2 with a king sized bed (and additional sofa bed in the downstairs living room). The space The Cottage is in the grounds of Rectory Farm House (our family home) but is fully detached with its own private entrance and outside patio area, as well as gated off street parking. It is situated in the beautiful and peaceful village of Steeple Aston and surrounded by stunning countryside and well situated for some fantastic local walks, including several that you can take straight from the doorstep. As you enter the Cottage (which has been recently refurbished) you enter a small hallway with hanging space for coats. On the right of the hallway is a bright and spacious living room with a comfy sofa and foot stool. The additional sofa can be turned into a double bed if 2 guests would prefer separate sleeping areas. The living room also contains an inside dining area and access through the patio doors to the terrace where you are able to sit outside and enjoy the views of the garden. From the left of the hallway is a well equipped kitchen with oven, induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. Just off the kitchen you will find the downstairs bathroom which includes toilet, sink and a fantastic walk-in shower. Continuing through the kitchen you ascend the stairs up to the first floor. At the top of the stairs is a large landing area with a desk and chair if you need to work during your stay. Off the landing is a small upstairs bathroom with bath (and shower fixed above), toilet and basin. In the other direction from the landing is the master bedroom with king sized bed, ample wardrobe space, a comfy chair for relaxing and beautiful views to the garden. It also has the Netflix app if you would like to use your account DVD player with a selection of DVDs A few jigsaws, board games and local walking books / maps Use of broadband and the landline (excluding international and premium rate calls) Bed linen and towels will be provided for the duration of your stay There will be 'starter' supplies of coffee, tea, sugar and milk, salt, pepper and olive oil, cling film, tin foil, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and basic cleaning items - this will be sufficient for a short stay or enough to start your stay before heading to a shop. PROVISIONS Within 10 mins walking distance of the Cottage you will find a well stocked shop / post office, our local village pub, The Red Lion and a lovely cafe, The Grain Store in Middle Aston. The nearest larger supermarkets can be found about 15 mins drive away in either Bicester, Banbury or Kidlington. Alternatively, you can arrange for supermarkets to deliver to our address. Other things to note There is a strict NO SMOKING policy in both the Cottage and on our property since it is our family home. Thanks for your understanding. Be careful and use the handrail provided when going up and down the stairs Sorry but we don't allow pets in the Cottage. We do have our own dog who is able to freely roam around the garden (but does not have access to the fully enclosed patio area that the Cottage enjoys). We would kindly ask that if the gate to driveway is closed when you arrive that you please shut again after you have driven in so that our dog does not go exploring around the village on her own!
