Other things to note 📌DISTANCES to popular sites: Gatlinburg: 15 mi Pigeon Forge Parkway: 5 mi The Island: 6 mi Dollywood: 10 mi Kroger Grocery: 5 mi Publix Grocery: 5 mi Walmart Supercenter: 6 mi ★All Wheel Drive (AWD/4x4) could be required to reach the cabin in snow/ice (possible in Dec-Mar). The road right before the driveway is steep. The driveway is paved and flat, and can accommodate 2 vehicles. 🚗The road right outside of the driveway is the steepest road on the drive to the cabin. I have no problem with it personally but everyone has different vehicles with different options and different experiences. It is not the steepest road to cabins I have experienced but a few of my past guests have noted that it was a challenge for them. I can send you a video of the route right after booking and within your cancellation for 100% period (first 24 hours to be safe). 🐶PETS: If you'd like to bring your furry friend along, we DO allow one dog (no cats) under 50 pounds for a one-time fee per pet (1 pet max). If you'd like to bring your pet, make sure to include the pet in the booking or let me know if you forgot and I can update your reservation at any time. 🐾Pets under 50 lbs are allowed to stay on the property with the following conditions: - No pets on the furniture - No pets in the hot tub - Pets must be tick & flea-free - Pets must be crated (not provided) when unattended at property - Pets must be leashed when outside and waste must be disposed of properly in our bear-resistant trash bins 🔥FIREPLACE: All fireplaces in the area are turned off from May-Oct. While we don't completely turn the pilot off in the living room fireplace, we ask that you do not use it. It is very effective at heating the cabin and competes with the AC. Electric fireplaces can be used in the bedroom for ambiance. ♨️HOT TUB: In accordance with our commitment to excellence and the Sevier County Health Department, the hot tub is cleaned and treated prior to each arrival. It runs continuously to remain heated. Please leave the cover on when not using it to keep the heat in and to allow for faster heating on the day of cleaning. ★The main fireplace is gas and has a pilot light, which blows out occasionally. We will provide a detailed video on lighting it; if you're not comfortable or are unable to relight it a $75 site visit fee will be charged by our handyman ($125 if an after-hours visit is required). DO NOT BURN ANYTHING in the fireplace to include wood, paper, or kindling. ★Cell service in the cabin, mountains, and local area can be spotty/weak. ★Download the local maps before arriving so that you do not get lost. Turning on wifi calling in your mobile phone settings helps. ★We recommend the purchase of Travel Insurance to protect your investment in the event of weather that would make roads impassable to vehicles with 4WD and/or chains. ▻There are BUGS 🐛 in the mountains and you might find some unwelcome guests. We have regular pest control so it makes sense you might find critters that didn’t make it. ▻The cabin is on a mountain well. The well pump needs power, if an outage occurs, water will stop flowing after the tank runs out, this happens rarely but is important to note. ▻The cabin is on a septic system — only toilet paper should be flushed.on a septic system. 🏔VISITS TO THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK: Effective March of 2023 The National Park Service is requiring a parking pass for all vehicles entering the park and plan on parking for more than 15 minutes in any one spot. Pass can be obtained online on the park's website. WELL WATER: Each cabin is on shared well water with the neighboring cabin. We use a water filtration company to professionally maintain the well. If you smell sulphur, please run the water for a few seconds extra until the smell subsides. The well water has a high iron content that can also tinge the hot tub water green. You may use the shock under the kitchen sink to possibly remove the color but be assured that it is safe and clean.
