The Great Escape Shop presents Honey Hive, a true log cabin! Welcome to Honey Hive Cabin, the perfect mountain retreat for you! Nestled in a secluded setting on half an acre of land and surrounded by a diverse collection of Smoky Mountain tree varieties, you'll feel like you're in paradise. Enjoy the warmth of honey pine floors throughout and modern amenities such as flat-screen smart TVs and a full-size kitchen with beautiful quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and deep green cabinets. Relax with all the comforts of home: cozy up next to one of three fireplaces, lounge in the hot tub away from the bugs on the screened-in deck, or take advantage of your own Atari-filled arcade games for some fun competition. Enjoy outdoor living by dining al fresco or grilling your favorite meal on the gas grill. Plus, take advantage of fishing or kayaking just a short walk away from your cabin door!  The King ensuite bedroom offers extra luxury for you with its own jetted tub and fireplace. An updated bathroom boasts an extra-large shower and doors for privacy. In addition, a washer & dryer set provides convenience for you during longer stays.  The living room has a queen sofa bed with a 4-inch memory foam mattress. The cleaners provide linens in a tied bag so you know you are getting a fresh set for every stay. And when it’s time to explore Pigeon Forge’s action, it is around 5 5-mile drive for you on paved roads. So come experience all that Honey Hive has to offer – book today and start packing for your adventure tomorrow! STARTER PACK PROVIDED: 2 rolls of paper towels, liquid dish soap, 2 dishwasher pods, 1 sponge, 1 laundry detergent pack, 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 hand soap bar, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 lotion, 1 shower gel and liquid hand soap (all other items you may need should be brought from home or purchased locally). ***All linens included plus extra blankets ***The cabin does not have an ice machine due to the increased flooding hazard and well water. ***We recently updated our pet policy to allow 1 small dog (20 lbs or less) TRAVEL INSURANCE: This is not a requirement but is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Travel insurance can protect you if someone in your party becomes sick, from natural disasters, and other unforeseen events, depending on your policy. Choose a Cancel For Any Reason policy. Guests have access to the entire cabin, 1/2 acre of land the cabin sits on, the neighborhood lake, neighborhood roads, and flat private parking for 2 vehicles. Please follow the point-by-point directions in the check-in message for the best entry to the driveway. If needed, I can send my on-site manager if urgent situations arise. Available by booking site messaging from 8 am-9 pm EST, 7 days per week, or by cell phone in emergencies (ex. water leak, fire). For emergencies, call 9-1-1 first. Hidden Mountain Lake (Hidden Mountain Resort West) is located just minutes from Pigeon Forge but in a secluded, forested setting away from the hustle and bustle of the tourism district. The cabin is located on a quiet street. You can fish at the pond just a short walk from the cabin. No fishing license required for our community pond. ***Note about the Smokies wilderness environment-I have had a few guests surprised that they booked a cabin in a forested mountain environment. There are bears, bugs, and lots of other critters. We use a professional pest company and cleaning company that provides pictures of every nook and cranny after each cleaning. If you see dead bugs, that means the pest control working. If you see live bugs, that happens too but the pest company will go out and address the problem if it's severe, as they are on-call. The Smoky Mountain National Park has the largest population of black bears in the nation. The black bears hibernate from mid-Dec. to mid-March. This is the best time to visit if you don't want to see a bear. We try to keep bears away from our property by having the bear-proof trash can locate away from the cabin and asking guests not to leave food or trash out, including in their cars. ***99% of the cabins in the Smokies source their water from a well. You may smell sulfur, which is naturally occurring. If you run the water for a few minutes, the smell dissipates. The area our cabin is located in is on a small mountain with all paved roads with street signs. The best driving tip is to use your GPS but it may take you to the cabin next door, depending on which GPS you use. I will also provide point-by-point driving directions in your check-in message. Roads are steep in some sections but the driveway is long and level. You will see a post with the number of the address lit up throughout the night-1662 and Honey Hive in large letters that turns off around 10 pm. The GPS may take you to the end of the road. If so, turn right and you will see Honey Hive on the left. You may exit the driveway to the left or to the right to return to town. Transportation is a must-have when exploring any town. This is especially true in the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area. Note that there are no bicycle lanes. Uber is not reliable and can even be nonexistent in the entire area. There are other driving services available and I provide those in the digital guidebook. VISITS TO THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK: Effective March of 2023 The National Park Service is requiring a parking pass for all vehicles entering the park and plan on parking for more than 15 minutes in any one spot. Pass can be obtained online on the park's website. PETS: If you'd like to bring your furry friend along, we DO allow one dog (no cats) under 50 pounds for a one-time $75 pet fee per pet (1 pet max). If you'd like to bring your pet, make sure to include the pet in the booking or let me know if you forgot and I can update your reservation at any time. Pets under 50 lbs are allowed to stay on the property with the following conditions: - No pets on the furniture - No pets in the hot tub - Pets must be tick & flea-free - Pets must be crated (not provided) when unattended at property - Pets must be leashed when outside and waste must be disposed of properly HOT TUB: In accordance with our commitment to excellence and the Sevier County Health Department, the hot tub is cleaned and treated prior to each arrival. It runs continuously to remain heated. Please leave the cover on when not using it to keep the heat in and to allow for faster heating on the day of cleaning.
