ABOUT THE HOTEL Le Kaouki is a unique and charming family-owned beach hotel with nine rooms and plenty of soul. Other than our kitchen appliances, everything here is handmade. Our small hotel has been run by the same team for decades and is warmed by art, acoustic music, and candlelight. We are located in Sidi Kaouki, Morocco, a small Berber village just twenty minutes south of Essaouira, astride the Atlantic Ocean and argan groves, full of fishermen and surfers, and well off the beaten track. The space ROOMS & BATHROOMS We have 8 rooms sharing 3 bathrooms (very private, always clean, no wait time), and 1 suite with its own bathroom. Rooms are quiet, dark at night, with fresh sea air, and beautifully lit with candles, with top quality beds, sheets, and towels. ROOM OPTIONS Single, 1 small bed = 29 euros Single, 1 big bed = 34 euros Twin, 2 small beds = 44 euros Double, 1 big bed = 44 euros Double, 1 big bed, sea view = 54 euros Triple, 3 small beds, or 1 small + 1 big beds = 64 euros La Suite, 1 big bed, own bathroom, and terrace = 74 euros FOOD Breakfast is always included, but most of our guests will also enjoy our restaurant with daily fresh home cooked meals, which is by far the best option in town. And because of the conviviality of the place, at least one meal with us is mandatory during your stay. ELECTRICTY & WIFI There is electricity in the kitchen and the office, and only candles in the bedrooms, courtyard, and dining room, not because we are cheap but because it is our concept and our guests love it. There is a Wi-Fi zone, with an excellent fiber bandwidth, and a charging station for all your electronic devices. Guest access You have access to the entire space: your bedroom, dining room, 2 indoor living rooms, a big outdoor resting and dining area, and 2 terraces. No access to the office, the kitchen, and the laundry room. Other things to note WEATHER The weather in Sidi Kaouki is nice all year around, no extreme conditions, never too hot or too cold like in Marrakech or the Atlas Mountains. ACTIVITIES Besides being a quiet resting place, local activities include the beach, surfing, horse and camel rides, quads, endless trails, hammam and massages, a telescope, a golf course, and the Essaouira medina. PAYMENTS We accept all kinds of credit cards and online payments, but we mostly prefer cash. REVIEWS We appreciate all sincere reviews. Good reviews comfort us with our hosting choices; less-good reviews will help us understand where we could improve something. But please, don’t leave a bad review if you haven’t stayed at our place, or just to complain about the shared bathrooms, or the candles-only light in the bedrooms; that is our concept, we cannot change that, we mention it everywhere, you were well informed before booking, and a bad score for this reason only won’t help improve anything. CANCELLATIONS Free cancellations are only accepted within 4 hours after your booking time, or 8 weeks before your stay date. FINALLY The compliment we hear the most from our guests is that they feel like at home. We really promise you a unique, lovely, disconnected, timeless experience, far from touristic consumerism.
