Katoi House - In the Heart of Skyros Village

Located in the heart of Skyros village, an intimate escape where an elegant and traditional space awaits you. A bright, spacious and fully equipped house that is only footsteps away from the town's main cobbled road, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Close to action when you want it and retreat to your private escape when you need it. A vintage styled and pleasant vibe has been created to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The space Katoi House was built in the 1960’s which is quite late considering most village homes were built 100's of years prior. This is why we find high ceilings and spacious rooms.Restorations were completed early 2021. We kept all original fittings and fixtures possible and created a comfortable stay with character and style. Once you enter the hand crafted wooden door, you can enjoy an open plan kitchen and lounge area. A highlight in the kitchen are the original Skyrian styled, hand sculptured shelves and wall plates. A traditional styled kitchen area with vintage fridge and microwave. A charming and elegant bedroom awaits you, decorated with soft colours and textures. A handmade wall tapestry is a highlight above the bed which adds to the traditional vibe in the home. An ‘ECOMAT’ mattress, high quality pillows and linen for an unforgettable nights sleep. There is a small outdoor area with a built in sitting bench at the entrance of the property. A perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee/tea or a glass of wine while at the same time, feeling a part of the neighbourhood as you are amongst the winding, cobbled streets. The bathroom is bright and large, designed to remind the guest of another time. It has an opening window, vintage styled sink and a large shower head to make your bathroom experience extra special. Solar panels also ensure consistent running hot water. Guest access You will have access to the whole house with a private entrance. Free Wi-fi is available in all areas of the house. Other things to note There is a small built in bench at the entrance which you can use to enjoy a morning coffee, glass of wine or read a book.
