Big Twin Lodge - Lake Life/Trail Riding/Seclusion

Lake life plus wooded privacy! Get the best of both worlds! Big Twin Lodge sits on the bank of Lake Louie (aka Louie’s Pond) on 6 private wooded acres. And just across the street, guests enjoy a slice of beach and a dock on Big Twin Lake. One mile up the road, access a network of ORV trails. Our 1973 built home sleeps 10. Three and 1/2 baths means no waiting! Large, well-stocked kitchen. Spacious rooms for gatherings, and lots of quiet nooks for peace and quiet. Laundry on premises. The space (Read photo descriptions for more details.) Our home is two story, with a walkout basement. It is 3000 sq. ft., carpeted and cozy! The entire south side of the home, facing Louie's Pond is equipped with screened, 3-season and 4-season porches - 700 Sq Ft in all! There are several large gathering areas, and many small nooks and spots to get away for some solitude. The kitchen is in the center of the home and open to one eating and sitting area. The table here expands to seat 8 or more people. Adjacent to the kitchen there is access to the upstairs 3-season porch. Three tables and numerous chairs make this a great spot for casual meals and family games. There is a whole wall of windows looking out over Louie's Pond and the mature forest that surrounds the home. Just off this porch is a screen porch replete with swing! To the right of the kitchen, there is a large formal living and dining room. Dining table has several leaves to accommodate large groups. Living room is arranged for conversation and for TV watching on our new 50 inch smart TV. The entire room has door walls and floor to ceiling windows on three sides, so you will feel like you're immersed in the woods all around the home! Gorgeous views await you regardless of what time of year you visit! On the left (east) end of the home is the master suite, with library (with sofa bed) and the upstairs master bedroom/bathroom. The master bedroom has a brand new king bed, and its own 4-seasons (that means heated for year round use!) porch. You'll feel like you're perched in a tree house as you sip your morning coffee and enjoy the panoramic views! Downstairs (walkout basement level) there is a second master bedroom, also with a brand new king bed. It has an en-suite bathroom with tub/shower combo. Around the corner is the third bedroom with a queen size bed with memory foam mattress and adjustable head. The bathroom for this bedroom is just around the corner in the hall. This third bathroom has a shower stall (no tub). There is a separate family room downstairs where you can kick your feet up, play some games, and be a little rowdier. There's even a piano! The kids may want to bring their video game consoles to hook up to the Roku-enabled TV in this family room. There is also a sofa-bed in this room. Beyond the family room, running the length of the house on the south side, there is another very large 3-season porch that we have converted into a sleeping porch! While this won't be useful in the coldest months (it's NOT HEATED), it will be the favorite place to sleep for 4 lucky people, spring though fall. In the warmest months, sleep with just the screen doors closed and let the crickets serenade you to sleep! (Is this what they call "glamping?") This porch has two twin beds on one end, a double bed on the other, and a lovely seating area in the middle. (Please note - this room lacks privacy, both from the family room and from the outside. However, our location is such that neighbors won't be a privacy issue. When sleeping here is too cold, there are two sofa beds indoors to accommodate these guests.) Also downstairs is a downright dreamy laundry room! Large washer and dryer are available for you to use, and there are two work tables where you can fold, sort, store your beachwear in the summer and your snow gear in the winter. There’s also an extra refrigerator for overflow or beverages. Guests also have access to our 1 car garage, which gives easy access in any weather to the house via a covered porch. Our newly widened circle drive accommodates your ORV trailers and makes getting in and out a breeze. Park your ORVs in our garage if you like, because you can just ride them down the road to access miles and miles of trails! Aside from the home, guests get access to a private slice of beach on Big Twin Lake which is just across the street from the house. Its just a short walk, or if you prefer to drive, there is room to park your car there. A boardwalk takes you to the beach where you have access to a boat dock (public launch about 2 miles away), two kayaks, picnic table, chairs, storage shed for beach gear, and a lovely private section of the beach. Guest access Any areas that are off limits are locked, so guests can roam the home freely. Our garage is available for parking 1 car, and is attached to the house via a covered porch. The home is on 6 wooded acres that guests are free to explore. (Boundaries are laid out in guest book at the home.) A short walk down the driveway and across the street leads guests to their private slice of the beach on Big Twin Lake. Guests share the boat dock there, and have access to two kayaks and one parking spot if needed. Other things to note ~Nightly pricing is for 10 guests. Local ordinance prohibits more than 10 guests! ~Sleeping arrangements are as follows. Please note that some sleeping spots are inappropriate for winter sleeping! During cold months, sofa beds will accommodate 4 guests: Upstairs Master - King bed, 2 people Upstairs library - full size sofa bed, 2 small people Downstairs Queen Bedroom - 1 queen bed, 2 people Downstairs Master - King Bed, 2 people Downstairs family room sofa bed - Queen size, 2 people SEASONAL! UNHEATED SLEEPING PORCH - 2 twin beds, 1 double bed - 4 people. (Sleep on sofa beds in coldest months.) ~Please read and agree to house rules before booking: HOUSE RULES: 1. Check in is 4:00 PM. Check out is 10:00 AM. Exceptions can be made if they don't interfere with the coming and going of other guests, but earlier check ins and later check outs MUST BE APPROVED ahead of time with property manager. 2. Guest limit is held strictly to 10 people. Daytime visitors must leave by 11:00 PM. 3. Parties and events in short term rentals are strictly prohibited by local ordinance, and this is enforced by local law enforcement. Our home is NOT appropriate for Bachelor/Bachelorette parties. If you're unsure about your event, please ask before booking. 4. Smoking (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, vapes, etc.) is strictly prohibited in the house. If you smoke outside, please clean up your own butts. 5. Recreational drugs (even legal ones) are strictly prohibited in the house and on the property. 6. Please be considerate of our neighbors and keep noise levels reasonable, especially between 11pm and 8am. 7. Bathroom towels are for in home use only. Please bring your own beach towels. 8. Because our home is carpeted, and in order to accommodate our guests with allergies, we do not allow pets. Guests who bring pets will be charged a $500 additional cleaning fee. 9. Our driveway is newly widened and tree-lined, with a circle at the end. Think of a lolly pop - drive up the stick, around the loop, and back down the stick. There are a few places to pull off to park, but bringing excess vehicles may make parking and moving around tricky. You may wish to contact us prior to booking if you are bringing a trailer to be sure we can accommodate it. 10. Guests are responsible for any damages caused during their stay.
