Description
We call this place the Sanctuary Zone. From the gorgeous drive through the rolling hills of Trafalgar South, you are greeted with breathtaking views of our 80-acre property, which is available for our guests. This extends to a beautifully appointed and winter-cosy farmhouse. Enjoy the experience of beautiful views, fresh air, adventures, nature walks, picnics, sitting around a fire pit with your friends and family, or under a cosy blanket in front of a fireplace on a rainy day. The space Originally built in the 1920s, this farmhouse has been lovingly renovated to blend modern comfort with the timeless charm of its traditional features. The result is a home that feels fresh and contemporary, yet still retains the character of its original design. The home is surrounded by large decking and porch areas, with plenty of seating space for a family dinner or for enjoying quiet time absorbing the gorgeous views. The home has three bedrooms, of which 2 have king-size beds and one queen-size bed. The home kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, including a stove, oven, and an excellent coffee machine for all coffee lovers. Although we provide simple ingredients like coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, and cooking oil, please bring groceries for your desired cooking, as plenty of fridge and pantry space is available. The home has two bathrooms and an additional powder room. The bathtub is a great place to start on your first night as you soak away all your stress of the week, enjoying a cup of tea or a glass of wine with some great bath salts and essential oils that we provide. Outside the home, you will feel Mother Nature’s simple life and warmth. You are surrounded by the views of rolling hills, some forests, and peeks of Mt Baw Baw in the distance. There are many gorgeous areas for walks on the property, including the little forest with a creek running through it. This path will lead you to a large freshwater dam, and if you have a moment to spare or have a picking ready, you may even spot a Platypus. Our farm is a lively place, home to 33 cows, 7 sheep, and 3 Alpacas. But the excitement doesn't stop there. We're eagerly preparing to welcome new additions to our animal family, including chickens, goats, pigs, and even horses. So, while you're here, keep an eye out for these future farm friends. In the meantime, listen to the delightful sounds of our feathered residents, such as the black cockatoo and the kookaburra. And if you're quiet enough at night, you might just catch a glimpse of a fox, a deer, or a wombat. Guest access The farm is based on an 80-acre property with many paddocks, a creek, a large dam, and near-residence gardens. We will provide an outlined map of the property and leave it in the house for you. We will also map out the best walking trails and outline areas within the 80 acres. We are surrounded by many other farms, and it’s best you know how to stay within the area. All of the farm is accessible to you, excluding storage sheds. In the future, once the cattle and other animals are on the farm, we will include areas on the map where they will be positioned. We advise you not to access cattle paddocks to ensure your safety at all times. Other things to note Be Environmental Smart Our farming process is a testament to our commitment to regenerative practices. By not using herbicides, pesticides, or artificial enhancing agents on our land, we are making a positive impact on the environment. We work with our animals and land in a way that respects and preserves nature's balance. In doing so, we have welcomed a return to our land, many Australian wildlife, and growing insect activity. We aim to develop and further enhance farming practices that will assist us in providing organic produce to our customers as a wider community. Like most Australians, we still rely on mainstream power companies for energy supply, and electricity bills have and continue to affect our households. To preserve our ability to operate AirBnB as an ongoing venture for all our consumers, we need your help. We need to become energy-smart, and we can do it together. In doing so, we simply ask you to turn off lights in the areas you do not occupy and turn off any powered equipment when not in attendance, such as a Heating and Cooling unit, TV, and similar. Whilst we work on implementing more energy-smart systems on our property, we would like to limit the power usage to a very generous $30 per week.
