Hannehuset, Eggum in Lofoten

Hannehuset is a cozy, newly restored house in the 50s-60s style located in scenic surroundings at the end of the ocean. The views from the kitchen and living room are absolutely stunning. Following the light and the great variations between high and low tide, where we regularly see seabirds and sea eagles, otters and seals, gives us a low pulse, and a calmer basic rhythm. A great contrast to active days, where hiking in the mountains and sea gives us many opportunities for exciting experiences. It can also be an inspiring home office! The space We have rented out the house for many years, and the house books are full of nice farewell words from satisfied guests. Now we are trying out if Airbnb is something for us. Hannehuset is the light yellow house that is "next to the last" before you get to the turnaround and the gate to the pasture on Eggum. Here is a veranda, and in the backyard there are two warm patios with garden tables and in the shed (outhouse) there are several garden chairs, and toys for the kids. In the shed there are also several old bicycles, barbecue and wood for the fireplace inside. Talk to us about what you want to borrow. NB! Barbecue charcoal for barbecue or wood for fire burning must be provided by the guests themselves! Guest access The kitchen is the most used, here guests say it is difficult to break away from the view! There are often long breakfasts and late evenings. The living room has the same view, and long tables with several sideboards, and a pleasant fireplace. The chamber set (on the 1st floor, behind the kitchen) has a sofa bed that can become a double bed or two beds. In the basement there is a smaller table that fits as an office desk here. We also have several office chairs. Let me know if you'd like an office space. Bathroom with shower on the first floor. On the second floor there is a small toilet and three bedrooms. West loft - large double bed and children's bunk bed (2x 170 cm long) + travel cot Outer loft - large double bed that can be split. Inner loft - double bed In the basement there is a hobby workshop, plenty of space to prepare fish, dry clothes, take a shower and rinse wet suits and dry suits. Nice place to dry shoes and hiking gear. There is also a toilet, convenient for both small and large! Other things to note Concerts and festivals: There are festivals and events throughout the summer, often several on the same weekend. First up now in July is the Lofoten International Piano Festival, next year there is a chamber music festival with concerts in all municipalities. Then it's nice to stay centrally in Lofoten! Hiking: It is nice to walk from Eggum to Unstad, but often nicer to walk the opposite way - at least when the evening sun shines and the wind comes from the south and west. The mountains here are demanding, feel free to ask for advice before you go up! Many well-known hiking destinations are well marked. On the bookshelf there are many hiking books and books that tell about the local history of the coastal people. Swimming: It's great to swim on the beach, in the middle of Eggumsgården. Here it is shallow, but the temperature is rather cool! Ponds and lakes are often a little warmer. At Haukland and Uttakleiv we find the most famous beaches. Fishing: Heimerdalsvatnet has lots of small trout, it is free to fish here! Fishing is otherwise popular in the sea and Borgepollene. Ask the sports shops at Leknes for tips and advice. Fiskeværet Ballstad on Innersida has people who take you out on fishing trips in larger boats. Surfing, paddling and climbing: Surfers are familiar with Delp, Unstad and Flakstadsand. Here you can also find courses for beginners and lovely saunas! Eggum has a demanding overhang, where specialists climb dry when it rains. Paddling and climbing can also be combined, we have good guides here at Eggum!
