Description
Cil Y Gwynt - pronounced "keel-uh-GWINT", meaning "shelter from the wind" - is the largest of the three properties in the Little Fish Collection, an eight-bedroom country house in the village of Rhoscolyn on Anglesey's southwest coast. The bay sweeps below the house and the Snowdonia ridge sits on the horizon; from the upstairs balcony you can see both at once. The house is designed upside-down so that the main living spaces sit on the first floor to capture the view. The space What makes Cil Y Gwynt different from most large holiday lets: • Upside-down design — the main living rooms are on the first floor to make the view the centrepiece, not an afterthought. From the living room balcony you can see the bay on one side and the Snowdonia ridge on the other. • Eight ensuite bedrooms, five are individually configurable — five are super-king or twin (split on request), one is the master with sofa bed and private sitting area, two are vaulted top-floor rooms each with a walk in wardrobe. Plus a bunk room with 7ft x 4ft beds that work for adults as well as children — handy for cousins or older teenagers. • A genuinely grown-up kitchen with a walk-in pantry, two dishwashers, double oven and a generous wine fridge. Built for groups who actually want to cook, not just heat things up. • Five ground-floor bedrooms in two wings — useful for grandparents who'd rather not climb too many stairs, or for splitting children/adults across wings. • An open fire in the living room for shoulder seasons; firepit in the grounds for warm summer nights. • A first-floor playroom with TV and a ground-floor utility for the practical bits (boots, beach kit, dog towels). • Hand-finished detail throughout — original features kept, contemporary finishes added Guest access You have exclusive private use of: • The whole of Cil Y Gwynt — all bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces, utility, kitchen and pantry. • The CYG hot tub, on the terrace at the back of the house. • The full-size tennis court, located on the CYG grounds and shared across the Little Fish Collection. Rackets and balls are provided. When other Collection properties are also booked, court use is shared (a simple bookable slot system is in development — for now please coordinate with the other guests; usage has been low-conflict to date). • The outdoor Cornilleau Pro 540M table tennis table on the terrace. • Roughly two acres of mature grounds and gardens — multiple seating areas, firepit, lawns, mature beds and enclosed area. • The front-of-house parking driveway - space for up to eight cars. What guests cannot access: • Llain Y Brenin (the next-door house) and Y Pilcodyn (the Shepherd's Hut) - separate bookings unless taken as part of the Little Fish Collection (Little Fish Houses and Little Fish Pod) • The store areas to the left of the property used by our Little Fish House Management Team Other things to note • Smart video doorbell at the front entrance for security only — captures video (no audio), no cameras inside the property or in the hot tub area. Footage stored locally and deleted after 30 days. Full details in our privacy policy. • Lanes around Rhoscolyn are narrow and unlit. Mobile signal can be patchy on the final approach. • Working farms in the village — occasional tractors, gentle livestock background. • Welcome touches on arrival: bespoke Little Fish Escapes shower gel and hand wash, fresh milk in the fridge, printed Welcome Guide on the kitchen island. • Additional experiences by arrangement — private chef, in-house spa, yoga/Pilates/breath-work, coastal activities with B-Active, pre-arrival fridge stock, arrival flowers. Just ask.
