With views extending across the valley with rare-breed sheep beyond the garden the cottage is filled with light and the sunsets can be spectacular. Bird-feeders in the garden attract a wide variety of birds and you are likely to see buzzards, barn owl, and deer in the surrounding fields. In the evening silence listen out for Nightingales and tawny owls. The Accommodation Ground Floor. We encourage recycling and composting. The neighbourhood. Simpers Drift is close to the village of Great Glemham which is quiet and idyllic, but only 2 miles from the A12 . The village pub provides good food and (like most local places) is dog friendly. Many pretty walks from the door; watch out for deer, hares, hunting birds and the renowned suffolk skies. The small market town of Framlingham, with its large castle (English Heritage) is 5 miles away. Also nearby and well worth a visit are: Snape Maltings, home to Benjamin Britten’s world-class concert hall. The genteel seaside town of Aldeburgh with its fishing boats and fresh / smoked fish stalls Sutton Hoo (National Trust) burial place of Saxon King Raedwald. RSPB Nature Reserve at Minsmere Approximately 35 minutes away to the north is the attractive coastal town of Southwold and the village of Walberswick with their sandy beaches. About 35 mins to the south is Felixtowe with a foot ferry to Harwich. Suffolk is well served with good places to eat and drink to cater for most tastes from fish and chips to fine dining. London rail links are just 10 mins away Within an hour or two by car are Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, Norwich and Stansted airport. Guest access Guests have independent access to Simpers Drift across the driveway and yard shared with the owners. Other things to note In the free, private parking area is a charging point for electric cars (charges apply).
