The gorgeous valley of Islita is truly something special. Tranquil and serene, filled with untouched nature and animals like Howler monkeys and Scarlett macaws, you'll never have a day without seeing something magical. We are so lucky to have amazing waves, elite surfing & yoga teachers, an epic equestrian center with trail riding, delicious restaurants, gorgeous hikes, dolphin tours, next level fishing, kayaking, waterfalls, turtle beaches, all within or nearby our lovely valley. The casita is located on our property. We have an acre of lush garden and forest located on a river and a couple min. walk to the beach. Often there are Howler or Capuchin monkeys right outside your bathroom window while you shower! Pretty cool. The casita is lovely. Incredibly comfortable and cozy and has all the creature comforts like mosquito screens, fans, black out shades, hot water and AC. It is a brand new build as of Aug '23. Although on our property, the casita feels private. Originally from California, our family now lives full time in Islita and loves sharing this paradise with people from all over the world. We have dogs and cats on the property. The dogs live behind a fence near our house, but sometimes they are out of the fence. They are friendly. At times during the day they bark, but at night they are quiet. We do not let the cats or dogs enter the casita, but they may come by and say hi. You can access the entire casita. Additionally, you have access to our pool, gorgeous yard and the path that leads to the river that runs half the year. We have a fire pit, and a magical bath tub in the garden as well. My family and I live next door. You will probably see us riding horses down the beach or surfing if we don't cross paths prior. =) I am available to help with any questions or support you may need. You will have my number. The casita is only a 1 minute drive or a very short walk through a horse farm or on a golf cart path to the beach. You can hear the sounds of the ocean from the house. Lomas de Islita, which is the name of the community where this house is located, is very private. There are only a handful of homes. It is a quiet place where most of the sounds you hear are of ocean waves and nature. The neighborhood is safe and has a friendly guard that is present around the clock. You can rent a car from the airport--4x4 highly recommended during dry season and 100% necessary during rainy season. You can also rent a 4 person golf cart for $100 a day from the closest town to be used only for beach and local Islita town access. You can rent quads in a nearby town and they will deliver them for you. If you don't have a car, you can easily walk to the beach, Hotel and town of Islita including a few restaurants. It is possible to be here without a car. But we recommend having some mode of transportation for getting around the valley and a car if you want to do more exploring. There is easy parking at Islita beach and the house. The valley of Islita is quite unique. It is a small chill destination with the local town, hotel, privately owned luxury homes and beach all close in vicinity. Islita beach is family friendly almost the entire year. We rarely have currents or rip tides and our waves tend to be smaller because of the cove. There is also great shade! There are often fun beginner waves and more advanced waves as well depending on swell and tide. There are many beaches nearby for more advanced surfing. And very few people at them so that's a bonus. The hotel Punta Islita has a intimate beach club with a beach front restaurant and pool. It is fun to go there and mingle with guests, the local surf school team and homeowners. Although small our valley has many restaurants to choose from. Upon booking you will receive a detailed pdf with every imaginable detail of every imaginable thing to do in this valley and the surrounding areas. =) 25 years ago when my family first came here there were no bridges or paved roads. It was quite the adventure. For most people arriving here by car can still feel quite exciting as there is about 25 mins of dirt mountainous road before you arrive in the valley. However there is now a bridge so you don't have to cross the huge river. We are about 2.5 hours from Liberia airport and 4.5 hours from San Jose airport. The pdf I send you has driving direction links and all the details you need for getting here including shuttle services, private plane charters, etc. The nature and wildlife here is very exciting (see photos). We have a Scarlett macaw breeding center which has currently released over 50 birds into the wild in our valley. Our beach is in between two turtle nesting beaches! Our climate is more dry in the non-rainy season (Dec-April) and although humid in the rainy season (May-Nov) its quite comfortable for most. Yes we have bugs and critters. Don't leave things on the ground, shake out your towels and shoes for example. We have top level horse riding, private yoga, exclusive surf trips, beachfront spa services and so much more. All this info. will be included in more detail in the pdf. It is smart when traveling to any country to be mindful of your valuables. Although rare, petty theft does occur so just like in any place best not to leave anything in your car when parking at beaches here and don't leave things on the beach unattended.
